    • The scary thing is that Chucklenuts(bush) can invoke martial law if he wants to. Who's to say that rogue black ops (praytorians) won't start shoot outs or riots so he could do so. SCARY STUFF.
Get involved this is still your country. Don't let it be taken from you without a fight.
As Mike and Kathy would say,
      Rage against the monkey right!
      Keep it lit!

    • Outstanding!!!!!. . . This injustice needs to be networked because the scary thing is that 1). it HAS BEEN happening. . . 2). it is JUST BEGINNING. . . 3). by the time it GETS WORSE, most people will not have seen it coming and by then it will be too late for complaining, protesting or warning - and maybe it already is too late. Have you figured out the reason why they are gradually moving to 1). take away our guns. . . 2).convince the need to put chips in us (they are already puting chips in products etc). . . and 3). building the series of "concentration camps" that look straight out of WWII all over the country (who are they meant for), but there won't be any protesting because the compelling argument is a convincing to protect us in the name of "homeland security" for "our own protection and welfare" and people are accepting it. First the catastrophe is created so people will welcome the "protection".
Thanx for the networking - Tell a friend - Tell EVERYONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    • How much homeland security do we need? Does Habeus corpus mean anything to you anymore after Bush has tossed it aside? I think this is relevant. It starts with simple civil rights. This is the next step.

    • i stopped watching mtv years ago, so i've never actually seen any of these ads on television.
i wonder if they ever get any air time on the tv station, or if mtv & viacom are too busy indoctrinating teenagers into their mindless system that portrays materialism as the highest value in american culture???

    • Bit hypocrytical considering MTV has been making us passive consumers for the last 20 or so years.

Hope this is a new stance. Realising how government is influancing a rising fear of immigrants and the poor. Lets hope anyways.

    • Why are people getting in a pissing contest about which genocide was the worst?

And which totalitarian government was the most evil?

Genocide, Totalitarianism-- these things suck no matter who they happen to and no matter what goverment perpetrates them.

That's the point of the video. The Holocaust, which we're taught about here in America, doesn't exist in a bubble, it's the story of people dehumanizing and killing other people in the name of ideology.

You can just as easily say that:
Rwanda happened to people like us.
Darfur happened to people like us.
The Pogroms happened to people like us.
Kosovo happened to people like us.

You are the same as them. That's the point.

    • It's true
WWII had more tragedies than we realize

      Stalin killed like 20 million
      The Italians gassed the Ethiopians
      The Japanese slaughtered the Chinese
The Asians just killed each other

Racism is still here though because racisim is still here
In order to do away with it it's gonna take a lot more than ignoring it

We're all gonna have to deal with the ramifications first. That means we're gonna have to understand and accept how racism has affected black, brown, red, yellow and even white people.

That's one helluva conversation that must be had first. We're not beyond race. It's just not PC to discuss or even acknowledge it.

    • The Holocaust thing really gets me here. Not that I'm anti-Semitic, but come on, why does the Holocaust get so publicized and yet nobody knows about the millions of Russians that were killed by their own leader? I'm starting to get really sick of all this unneeded attention to the Holocaust, that's the reason why racism is still here, people just don't stop talking about it (And by "it" I mean race) They just keep bringing it up which spurs more controversy, thus creating more racism and hate.

If they'd said, "Stalin killed people like us" nobody would know what they were talking about.

the ad was designed to make the threat of despotism real for the viewer by connecting something they know as historic fact with their daily life.

    • i have a better "warning" piece : show a family in front of the TV when the thugs come knocking , and then have the dad whip out his 44 mag. and take out a few of them before he's killed , in the act of defending his family .
      the tag could read : " you have a choice " .
the NRA can't make a commercial like that and have it aired . why ?
buy a gun - now - and rest a little easier knowing that at least you won't go down like sheep when the stormtroopers pay a visit . if he had had the choice at the time , i'm sure Anne Frank's dad would have loved having a firearm .
wanna avoid MTV's little scenario ? quit whining and buy a firearm .

Do you think a pistol is gonna protect you from the government

      They thought that in waco
How did that work out for them

I have a much more effective solution
We develop common sense and remove these people from office.

The problem is most of them support the NRA, abortion abolition and other hot button emotional topics that causes people to ignore their true intentions.

The abrogation of the Constitution by such groups as PNAC is screwy to say the least... We must not, however, let these fools get out of hand or they will be rounding up the passive masses, like sheep, for... whateeeveeer...

Corrupting our democracy with money, that does not a democracy make. We are not in a democracy, it is an illusion people like to believe. Sure you vote for the mayor but foreign policy is not up to the citizens. For the people, of the people, by the money.

"The Renaissance happened to people like us"
"The Boston Tea Party happened to people like us"
"The Crusades happened to people like us"

The message in this commercial can be summed up as "things happen to people", how insightful.

Mtv thanks to MTV for this wake up call.

We are on the edge......I hope we don't get pushed over. This is the real terrorism BY OUR OWN GOVERNMENT...see the video above on the Homemade terrorist bill which is being read in Congress by John Haller. It is VERY VERY SCAREY.

Look into FEMA camps and continuity of government in the case of a natural disaster or "terrorist" attack. The New World Order is planning something big.

    • There is a major difference between that place and time that the Holocaust happened.

The force and the arms are not all on one side here. They would be met with a lot more resistance by people that did not obey the law in any case.

Weapons are a lot easier for anyone to get than it was then.

It would only invite otherwise law abiding people to join them and the result if pushed to more anarchy with open battles in the streets

Apathy only last so long if it is happening to someone else.

If they actually do declare martial law then people will be directly threatened so apathy will disappear when it affects them personally.

There are a lot more of them then there will be of those that are trying to enforce the oppression.

    • again with the world war two analogies!

why is the jewish holocaust the barometer of all that is evil in the world?

how about fascist chile? that was backed up by kissinger and other jerks in washington and looked a lot like that MTV ad and happened more recently.

or ask an undocumented worker about being rounded up at a meatpacking plant in the midwest. that happened not one year ago.

point is, it's already happening it just depends who you are.

glad they've woken up (sort of, a little) over there on music TV but they still seem kind of simple if you ask me.

    • Beginning several months later than fighting in the republics of Slovenia and Croatia, the Bosnian civil war was the most brutal chapter in the breakup of Yugoslavia. On February 29, 1992, the multiethnic republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, where Catholic Croats, Orthodox Serbs, and Muslim Slavs lived side by side, passed a referendum for independence -- but not all Bosnian Serbs agreed. Under the guise of protecting the Serb minority in Bosnia, Serbian leaders like Slobodan Milosevic (1941-) channeled arms and military support to them. In spring 1992, for example, the federal army, dominated by Serbs, shelled Croats and Muslims in Sarajevo, the Bosnian capital. Foreign governments responded with sanctions (not always tightly enforced) to keep fuel and weapons from Serbia, which had (in April 1992) joined the republic of Montenegro in a newer, smaller Yugoslavia. Bosnian Serb guerrillas carried out deadly campaigns of "ethnic cleansing," massacring members of other ethnic groups or expelling them from their homes to create exclusively Serb areas. Attacks on civilians and international relief workers disrupted supplies of food and other necessities just when such aid was most crucial: in what became the worst refugee crisis in Europe since World War II, millions of Bosnians (and Croatians) had been driven from their homes by July 1992. Alarmed by ethnic cleansing and other human rights abuses (which Croats and Muslims also engaged in, though to a lesser extent than did the Serbs)

You never know till it's too late.

I lived in DC during 9-11, weird to see armed military on every corner in the business district from dark to daylight for about 2 months or so. We weren't under martial law, but it looked like it. But I have to admit at the time it was quite reassuring at the time, then when you flew out of Regan National and saw the anti aircraft battery setup just across the river, it was scary but in a glad you've got a huge vicious scary guard dog in your yard kind of way.

them. Test case, was New Orleans after Katrina when they brought Blackwater in because of civil unreast stories which were just that, stories. If these mobster's
feel they are going too loose power don't be surprised
when they try another terror attack, martial law too follow.

George Orwell's book, "1984" still resonates with me and it was written in 1949.

When I read how so many people on current want drugs made legal I think of Orwell's book and how if the masses are drugged, undereducated, isolated, and overwhelmed that this video could very well be us.
