Two US cities will become virtual fortresses during the Democratic and Republican nominating conventions, protected by airplanes, helicopters, barriers, fences and thousands of police officers, National Guard troops and Secret Service agents.

    • This is BIG! We've never had (that I can recall) this massive of security for a convention. Sad to say, this tells me that our nation has not overcome some 'issues'.

    • Makes me feel like there is something stirring among the people of this nation...something I'm completely unaware of...something the majority may be unaware of, but something big. Something that has our government quaking in its boots.

    • AND BLACKWATER WILL ALSO WISK US ALL UP TO HEAVEN IN THE PROCEEDINGS :)

What God wants, God gets, God help us all !

      ENJOY THE RIDE ?

"A tyrant must put on the appearance of uncommon devotion to religion. Subjects are less apprehensive of illegal treatment from a ruler whom they consider god-fearing and pious. On the other hand, they do less easily move against him, believing that he has the gods on his side" - Aristotle

"In the end, more than they wanted freedom, they wanted security. They wanted a comfortable life, and they lost it all -- security, comfort, and freedom. When ... the freedom they wished for was freedom from responsibility, then Athens ceased to be free." -- Sir Edward Gibbon (1737-1794)

"The tyrant, who in order to hold his power, suppresses every superiority, does away with good men, forbids education and light, controls every movement of the citizens and, keeping them under a perpetual servitude, wants them to grow accustomed to baseness and cowardice, has his spies everywhere to listen to what is said in the meetings, and spreads dissension and calumny among the citizens and impoverishes them, is obliged to make war in order to keep his subjects occupied and impose on them permanent need of a chief." - Aristotle

    • Good, so now they just aren't alienating people to remove them from the national political debate, they are actually using the military to prevent people from protesting and expressing their right to organize.

    • Sadly there are so many nut jobs out there that would like to kill a black man for thinking he could be president that we need tight security. I just wish that it was only private security.

    • And to think one day not so long ago politicians could once stand in front of a crowd and not have to have all this body protection because people were friendly and were able to trust thier leaders to do the right thing for the people and the country. Just that fact alone should make all politicans and people think, "What happened to America" When was the transition from a democracy to a police state where people are affraid of thier leaders and don't trust them for a minute, where if you carry the wrong sign you can end up in jail, where free speech is no longer tolerated where politicians are treated like royalty and the peasants cannot revolt without being put in jail on trumped up charges. Steppenwolf was right when he said "There is a monster on the loose, he's got our head into a noose, and he just sits there watching, America where are you now, don't you care about your sons and daughters?" It makes a person not want to live under such circumstances, something must change if not for us for our children!!!!!!!!!

    • The "microwave pain rays" as Dimitri calss it is the active denial system. Check out this demo.

It takes a moment to get "cooking," but hang in there for the big picture.

      Actually, you're right.

I saw a demonstration on CNN, and they used different things to shield against it, and they made it seem like it was impossible to block.

But truth be told, if you had a metal window screen you could easily shield against it.

Still, the fact that they are using military weapons for crowd control goes against everything the DNC supposedly stands for.
