    • The collapse of Pakistan's infrastructure is just the opportunity the bush administration needs to expand their military conquest. We go in to deliver humanitarian ad and we find... "terrorist". Going to hell in a hand-basket, makes me sick.

Brendan_M, the majority of the Pakistani population is vehemently anti-USA, so it is hardly likely that it will allow your supplies through or cooperate with the US on their border with Afghanistan, or allow pipeline from Central Asia (and this pipeline which has to go through Afghanistan is likely never to be built in the first place). As for an invasion of Pakistan by the US, considering the size of Pakistan and the size of its population, it is not a workable proposition at all, neither has the US enough clout left to impose regime change there - it wasn't even able to prevent the ouster of Musharraf.

    • Along with the Russian invasion of Georiga, this is far and away one of the most important news stories of the year. With the resurgence of the Taliban, Israeli/Iranian tension spiraling out of control and American influence waning this could signal the beginning of perilous days.
