Bears are notoriously scared of dogs. That's always a comfort when camping in bear territory if you have a dog. I had no idea a dog this small would be able to scare off a protective mother though. It probably wasn't a grizzly!

It's amazing the mother bear didn't go at the pup after it scared the cubs - or maybe she knows not to hurt babies.
