The Fox News Channel has taken out an ad in Monday's Washington Post, Wall Street Journal, and trade publication Multichannel News highlighting recent findings from a study by the Pew Research Center for the People & the Press, which found that Fox News' audience is more balanced along party lines than either CNN's or MSNBC's.

    • I have an idea... if this advertisement is true, maybe it is true because people who watch CNN are better informed than people who watch FOX, and therefor are more likely to vote Democrat because they know the party currently holds their best interests.

    • This is all bullsh*t. There are so many factors that go into these kinds of stats that you could make them say anything you want. What's the definition of "regular viewer"? What's the viewership of news shows vs. opinion shows and how do you define each? How do you factor in people who get their news from multiple sources vs. those who only source a single outlet (this is especially important for Fox)? It's just an ad and should be taken with a grain of salt...like everything else that comes from Murdoch.

    • They don't say why the democrats are watching fox. Everyone needs a litle comic relief. Hey, even gops watch The Colbert Report. The difference is, they think it's a serious news program.

    • I don't believe most of what Fox news says. I don't watch it, but see a lot of articles from its website which are linked to here and on other discussion boards which I frequent.

So you mean to tell me that the Republican Party is fighting Government corruption instead of causing it? Or that the Republican voters are standing up for their constitutional rights instead of letting the Government dictate how they live?

Do you have source evidence to provide, or are you just going to tell me I'm wrong again?

    • What it fails to mention is that the 39% of Republicans who watch FOX are the only Republicans left in America.

Also, that the 33% of Democrats who watch FOX are either keeping tabs on FOX's blatant stream of mis-information, or are undercover Republicans.

Fox News is fairly unbalanced(factually, mentally, and statistically speaking).

    • Wait, FOX News is accusing another network of being partisan... right.... I liken that to OJ calling someone a murderer.

    • The most relevant thing I get from this article, and hence the Pew study, is that there are a LOT of Republicans who don't watch news at all.

Fox's conclusion that it is less biased is in error. Viewership is in no way a determiner of bias. Bias is determined solely by examining programming content. And when that is done, and it's been done quite a lot, Fox shows its true colors. Red red red.

    • I don't understand how a network's audience reflects its political bias. Isn't it the other way around?

I would also like to see some investigation into the average IQ of Fox viewers, compared to CNN.

Anyway, Fox calling other networks biased seems a bit silly to me.
