Obama to accept nomination on stage that 'looks like a temple'

Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama's big speech on Thursday night will be delivered from an elaborate columned stage resembling a miniature Greek temple.

The stage, similar to structures used for rock concerts, has been set up at the 50-yard-line, the midpoint of Invesco Field, the stadium where the Denver Broncos' National Football League team plays.

Some 80,000 supporters will see Obama appear from between plywood columns painted off-white, reminiscent of Washington's Capitol building or even the White House, to accept the party's nomination for president.

    • 1) Thou shalt honor thy memory of Bill and Hillary Clinton and the 90s.

      2) Not only will thou not worship any religious idols, though shalt make sure that no one ELSE is worhshipping religious idols anywhere NEAR public property. This is especially true of the Christian Religion.

      3) Thou shalt covet the money of Bill Gates, Big Tobacco, Fast Food, the Pharmecutical Companies, the Insurance and Oil Industries.

      4) Lying is OK when it's about sex and the Republicans are out to get you.

      5) TAX IT! THEN SPEND IT!

      6) The U.S. shall take decisive action ONLY when the Democrats are in charge.

      7) Higher taxes are the universal cure for all of Societies woes. Including, but not limited to the deficit, social security, people who smoke too much, drive SUVs, eat fast food and failing schools.

      8) Thou shalt not touch thy Social Security as laid down by the God (hats off please) Franklind Delanour Roosevelt.

      9) Thou shalt not cut the budget of ANY Government program, with the exception of the military and NASA.

      10) Thou shalt oppose any ideas that come out of the mouths of the Republicans, no matter how good they happen to be.

Thou shalt spell President Roosevelt's name horribly wrong.

"8) Thou shalt not touch thy Social Security as laid down by the God (hats off please) Franklind Delanour Roosevelt."

Really? You don't know how to proof read?

    • I am an Obama supporter but his decision to accept the nomination at a stadium as opposed to in the convention hall is making me nervous. I think that McCain is getting some traction from his claims that Obama is simply a "rock star" and not experienced enough to lead. This speech has the potential to play right into these criticisms.
