Palin is not the breath of fresh air she portrayed when she accepted the V.P. nomination.

Didn't she say her husband was a commercial fisherman? I've heard he also works for BP as a production supervisor. Since Commercial Fishing is seasonal in Alaska, I wonder why she chose to play up the "fisherman" part more than the oil part?
She was once appointed to the Ethics Commission in Alaska. Did she really intervene as Governor to try to get her ex-brother-in-law fired as a state trooper? She IS currently under investigation for this personal vendetta.
FOR SURE she has allowed the aerial slaughter of wolves pushed by outfitters who guide hunters on expensive Caribou hunts for well-to-do "sportsmen".
While she could have ordered that those wolves be darted and relocated along with the pups the slain females would undoubtedly leave behind, she allowed them to be hunted by helicopter and aircraft without regard for the orphaned pups waiting to be fed in the den. They were simply allowed to starve to death or to be eaten by predators when the mothers did not return to feed or defend them.
She also SUED the Department of Game and Fish to have Polar Bears REMOVED from the endangered species list.
Sounds like Palin and McCain are for more of the same Bush/Cheney arrogance that is destroying the planet and its wildlife. They are waiting in the wings to continue the GOP's awful legacy.
Hockey Mom?
Read the links below to see how far that flies.

Her Gubernatorial experience? Obama's Senate District has a bigger population and remember, GWB was a Governor for a term and a half while he took Texas from a $2 Billion budget surplus to a $4 Billion DEFICIT! It was a PREVIEW of what he would do to the COUNTRY'S economy, wasn't it?

First, Plusaf. Quoting from the legal filings is so adolescent. Of course their filing is going to try to render the prior research null and void. What do you expect? You sound as though simply posting the opening statement of an attorney whose client is actually guilty of murder is proof of his client's innocence. I'm sorry you took so long copying and pasting all that palaver.
Alliknowis, your post is one choice collection of run-on sentences and ravings.
Just one of several highly-unbalanced and accusatory attempts at proving your very weak position should be noted from the following statement you made:
*** " I'll still give her a chance till facts prove different, and you'll believe just because she's a Republican she must be and evil baby seal killing ogre. " ***
This excerpt from your rant summarily proves that you'll continue to state YOUR flimsy opinions as fact and to characterize the research others have done as partisan lunacy.
It is you who brought up the urinating contest and perhaps that is what you see in this vetting process. However, just don't try to circumvent the very real decision by the Republican Party to work at REPEALING the Endangered Species Act and to make that goal a part of the party's written, voted on, approved and published PLATFORM when Bush was first elected.
Voting to put repeal of the endangered species act on the party's platform shows exactly why Republicans place the economic goals of the party's biggest contributors far above the health and safety of the entire planet and all of its inhabitants.
Within the fabric of doing the bidding of corporate lobbyists lies the very core of what caused the Delay, Abramoff. Libby, Gonzo/Attorneygate, Randy "Duke" Cunningham, Halliburton, Bridge to Nowhere, Iraq War, David Vitter, WMD, Downing Street Memos, Pat Tillman, Enron, Cheney/Energy Czars, FISA, Warrantless Wiretapping, Blackwater, and dozens of additional Bush Administration scandals.
Until Allyouknow is MORE than you do now, it might help us all if you would find some other place to "mark your territory". You should make it a point to actively reject the dishonesty within the leadership of the current party and to seek to find out who is paying to keep you so uninformed.
Cheers,

I feel embarassed for the republicans this time around. Both of their candidates, Mcsame and now Palin, just seem so insignificant...trailing on the coat tails of the corrupt Gop machine...milk toast to the puppet masters, vying for another four years to torture us with their trickle down disaster, that they finance with our tax dollars and far too many loans for ongoing war..."failed policies and bad politics..."...we've had enough already...

Relevations.....Golden Ruler...Johnnie Hargrave....DUDE! You rock! Loved your story about telling the old guy off and quitting! Good for you! I'm tired of "respecting" old assholes who don't deserve my respect. (OTOH, I love ol' folks stories!!) I might have handled it a bit differently, but I'm with you 100% on Polar Bears v. Humans....

This statement is about hunting..Polar bears in particular...in the sixties...in Breckenridge Texas..there was a large stuffed Polar bear in the lobby of an oil and gas business.....I did some work there and it really pissed me off to be there....this old man came out and started to tell me the story of how he tracked and killed it...he said Polar bears travel in basically a straight line so they tracked it from a helicopter.....set up camp in front of its path.....he shot it and it came over and bit him on the leg before it died....he pulled up his pants leg and showed the scar.....I could tell I was probably the one millionth customer to hear the story....I got mad and called him an asshole...he said that I did not have the right to talk to him that way since I was working for him.....I told him my work was done...I grabbed my tools and started to walk away....then I told him the world would have been so much nicer if he had just been another meal for that glorious animal.......the man died one week later....and as hard as I tried....I just could not feel bad about it......great off-white hunters.......Golden Ruler...Johnnie Hargrave.......

Public response to AllIknowis:
You are right about that single insignificant point. I meant to type “THREATENED” but in the overall scheme of things, Palin SUING to have them removed from the THREATENED Species List is just as egregious, pal.
Your argument forgets the MAJOR issue of the Republicans’ 8 year record of Environmental Destruction and the Fascist takeover of the U.S. Government.
Your protest weakens in its minutia and in the face of their penchant for destroying habitat not just for the Polar Bear but for all life on this planet.

Here is the story on Palin’s suit trying to get them off the THREATENED species list
http://www.grist.org/news/2008/05/22/alaska/
Now defend her fascist agenda.
Try starting with her 2006 approval of the bridge to nowhere and her flip flop when it became a public liability.

Inofuilwell:
Well it must be an easy mistake to make since every other post and copy of a story has called it endangered too. Most of them are intentional muddling of the facts. Makes me question the accuracy of the rest of the complaints, wish i had time to closely read all of them.
The same Thurs in the story about the speed limit off the east coast for cargo ships to protect whales, made it sound like there had been this 10 mph limit 30 miles off shore. in fact there had never been any speed limit at all. The admin lowered it to a 20 mile off shore, but it was spun in the washington post to make it sound like bush changed an established speed zone.
I don't agree with every thing Bush has done in the past 8 years, nor any president. The story wasn't about that, it was about Palin's record. It's not sporting to shoot wolves or any animal from the air, but you have to control wildlife populations, i won't even pretend to know all the facts around that portion of the posting. I have seen enough stories online to know that wasn't even very popular in Ak.
As for destroying habitat, reauthorizing the wildlife habitat incentive program, is kind of the opposite of destroying. Yeah, sure, you can point to 10 things that you think destroy the environment, we could continue this urinating contest all week, but to what end? I'll still give her a chance till facts prove different, and you'll believe just because she's a Republican she must be and evil baby seal killing ogre.

A true king or leader of a nation should love and respect the land. The gods Gaia (earth) and Ouranos (the sky) made this for all living things to enjoy life..........

Choosing Palin in order to draw the female vote is so typically deceptive of the Far Right. She scares me. And after 8 years with Bush et al., the Far Right scare me. What happened to the old fashioned Rockefeller Republicans?

NOT TRUE, about polar bears, look on LA Times site, or Nat Geographic. They were NEVER listed on Endangered list, they have been placed on threatened species list as of may this year.
