The point is missed that the article was written in January 2008 so unless you are a conspiracy theorist and believe that the McCain camp had pre-ordained her to be the VP running mate in January, her article is not an election ploy.

In a democracy it is possible to disagree with a persons views, opinions and lifestyle without resorting to personal attacks but that may not be possible in politics.

The purpose for the response section in current posts is supposed to be about the subject, video, image, text but for most when the subject is political the main retorts are cathartic in general as they dont respond to the actual piece in question

Regarding this article it shows me that I dont know enough about Alaska to be able to say if there is enough evidence for polar bears to be put on the endangered species list or not. There is enough information in the article to lead me to believe that as far as the state government is concerned that the response is a mix of being able to preserve animals and habitat and also promote industry, both of which can be at odds in many ways.

My father leans republican, but her disregard the environment and its wildlife disgust him and has made up his mind already to vote for Obama.

I must of missed that part where she said she shot bears and wolves from the air. Polar bears have been protected from hunting for years, unless you're an Alaskan Indian. Guess they're not that endangered.

Ask yourself this, protected or not would you shoot a polar bear or wolf from the air? She has. That in its self is enough to disgust me.

I wonder what she tells her children when she decides that there are too many polar bears to be protected anymore & a downward population adjustment is necessary, in order to protect the interests of the oil industry with more climate change rhetoric, now that she's the GOP's running mate.

You guys ought to do a little research, in May of this year the US government listed the polar bears as a threatened species.
They're protected,they're safe, there was no data to justify them as endangered. Especially just to use them to pass draconian climate control laws, that probably wouldn't effect anything anyway. Except make you feel better.This is on the National Geographic site. Canada says and has done the same thing.
