Obama's birth certificate !!!

In June, the Obama campaign released a digitally scanned image of his birth certificate to quell speculative charges that he might not be a natural-born citizen. But the image prompted more blog-based skepticism about the document's authenticity. And recently, author Jerome Corsi, whose book attacks Obama, said in a TV interview that the birth certificate the campaign has is "fake."

We beg to differ. FactCheck.org staffers have now seen, touched, examined and photographed the original birth certificate. We conclude that it meets all of the requirements from the State Department for proving U.S. citizenship. Claims that the document lacks a raised seal or a signature are false. We have posted high-resolution photographs of the document as "supporting documents" to this article. Our conclusion: Obama was born in the U.S.A. just as he has always said.

    • Kerry was a farce and a disgrace to the uniform. Sorry but siding with and spreading propaganda for the enemy does not make you a war hero. No matter how many times you get a Purple Heart for getting hit by rice patties.

      At least McCain stood up to his captors and while he may not have saved anyone's life out on the open battlefield, he has saved and was saved by countless other POWs.

      Before you make stupid assed comments maybe you should do a little research and learn what life was like for McCain a POW and Kerry a disgrace to the US.

    • This is pointless. Those individuals who continue to believe the lies want to believe the lies. It has nothing to do with the truth and everything to do with listening only to the information that they want to hear so they can continue justifying the way they think to begin with. Fox news is a great example of that. It's tabloid tv. Think about the kind of people that watch that crap........exactly.

    • I have never been an admirer of the FactCheck.org. In FACT I think they are only a few "fact checks" away from a lawsuit. The question about Obamas birth place is ridiculous and a waste of time to even bother corroborating. No one in their right mind ever took this dispute seriously.

    • For all of you that think McCain isn't a citizen:

      "In most cases, one is a U.S. citizen if both of the following are true:

      1. Both parents were U.S. citizens at the time of the child's birth
      2. At least one parent lived in the United States prior to the child's birth."

      I haven't heard anything about his parents not being Americans so I think we need to stop bashing McCain for his "alienship."

      Obama has strong ties to the CORRUPT Chicago political machine. Those ties got him into the State Senate. They also got him into the Senate. If there was any real inquiry into his funding you'll find that he has gotten money from many shady sources not to mention on top of that he has gotten and still gets lobbyist money from special interest groups. For him to deny this and for people like you to pretend that he doesn't is just plain lunacy.

      If you need I can get into the criminal ties that he has with people like Tony Rezko and Bill Ayres.

      Lets not forget that America-Damning Reverend who Obama called his mentor and father figure. I dont know about you but "father figures" tend to have a huge impact on the "sons" personality and view points. I really dont think that the US needs a son of Rev. Wright in the oval office. That is not the change that America is looking for.

      My hero? Jesus! I'm non-partisan liberal. I can't stand McCain, but some people simply don't get that their accusations are false. McCain is a citizen (I wasn't talking about his age) and people who think he isn't are simply uneducated.

      Well, If LAHolly says Obama is the only one then it MUST be true. Even though he may not be a true citizen, not born on American soil.
      A military base, even in Panama is American soil.

      Kerry a hero? Yes he served in the military in Vietnam. His country called and he went. Then he disagreed and protested as a verified, and proud American.
      Can you say the same?

    • The smear campaign will always continue. Especially since the media has been towards conservative side, especially Fox. I always love how Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert always make fun of them for asking some of the most stupid questions. My personal favorite, "Is Obama secretly a Muslim?"

    • McCain was born on a Military base in Panama. But it would be nice to see him held to the same level of scrutiny. But I guess he doesn't look "foreign" enough to question. And by "foreign" I mean "black".

      Sad.

      The issue is credibility. If the roles were reversed and McCain was the new comer that sprung up out of corrupt Chicago political system with a sketchy past.

      and

      Obama was a third generation military serviceman who served this country and suffered as a POW, and then served a relatively distinguished 20+ years in the Senate.

      Then people would question McCain's background more. Its common sense... The man is running for President. I dont know about you but I would like to know everything there is to know about the man. .... Well both men actually.

      What I currently know of Obama and his ties to Chicago politics, add to that the caliber of people he has surrounded himself with (Rev. Wright, Ayers, Resko, etc) as well as his mostly guarded past, this in my book disqualifies him.

      Now I have my reservations about McCain as well. Such as his POW experience, some of the more liberal stances that he has on key issues, and to a lesser extent his age.

      I would like to see more information on both candidates.
