The game's scheduled to kick-off at 1907 Eastern Time, meaning if it finishes within its 3 hour allotted slot then McCain and co. should be fine. However, should the game have extended overtime or 'an unusual number of disputed calls or injuries' then RNC's 'paramount moment,' John McCain's acceptance speech, might have a little bit more competition.

This is exactly what is wrong with things today. I'm an Obama supporter, but this is silly!
Since when does anything else on TV have priority over politics that concern the selection of our next president? First things first people!
Why aren't the two events on two separate channels to avoid this scheduling conflict?

I'll give them the hurricane, they couldn't have predicted that but the NFL schedule was done well in advance. Did no one see a scheduling issue there. If these guys can't even schedule a convention without conflict how do they plan to run a country?

Let McCain speak. This is no better than when the preacher prayed for rain on Obama's big night.
You see how that backfired (Gustav)
I'm hoping it ends in time and McCain has an opportunity to deliver his speech.
That's the beauty of democracy.

Get real, I'm sure they're happy as hell alot of people WILL NOT get to hear McLame. Think about all the gaffs he's made speaking to reporters already. (Remember Joe LIEberman whispering correct answers in his ear during press conferences?) He may be in training with tonight's speech, but he also has many senior moments.

First of all, I am not sure W is going to leave the White House.
Second, lets see if anyone gets a seasonal home in Dubai. Not just W, anyone.
Lets watch.

the most important night happened yesterday for the party and for all the people who were mildly interested in the rnc campaign. I doubt a lot people will pay that much attention to his speech.

I agree with you stone246. everyone knows McCain isn't the best or most moving speaker - and Palin will be hard for him to compete with on a purely sensational level...this could be a blessing in disguise for them.

Pretty funny.
If it was broadcast on Fox instead of NBC, then there would be some really interesting choices to be made.
