No other interviews are scheduled. It will be the first TV interview for Palin since she was named 10 days ago as running mate to John McCain.
Palin had planned to return to Alaska this weekend but is so popular on the stump that she...

"The McCain campaign kept her off Sunday shows this weekend and plans to be sparing with high-risk network encounters, which they contend are unimportant to voters despite the media’s fixation on them."
WHY? who are they to choose what goes into voters ears? Not even in office and yet they are still trying to filter out unknown information...this looks a bit fishy.
I respect Biden for his open mindedness on the

UM YEAH...She should feel obliged to do at least ONE interview. Otherwise, how are we supposed to know who she really is??
See, this only reveals the sneakiness of the the republican party in this campaign. They really don't want her to interview at all, and if she does, the reporters aren't allowed to ask questions about her family.
Obama and Biden aren't immune to scandal from the media....why should Palin be free from question? - 3 years ago

I will recommend the movie "Idiocracy" again. A comedy yes, but a chilling one, showing the frightful path we are headed down.
Now lets look at political bravery. Barack Obama went into the belly of the beast itself to be interviewed by Bill O'Reilly himself, and when he got words in edgewise, he was quite effective. I think Palin should interview with Olbermann or Matthews if she really wants to show her toughness, and knowledge of the issues.
Gibson will only set the ball on the tee for her with questions that lead straight to her talking points. Example: "What do you say to those who say your experience is thin?"
Whitenoise, great stuff. I am always happy to see a Zappaphile in this world. See ya at Joe's Garage.

DEAR ELIZABETH 100,
The only reason why the GOP seems skilled at manipulating public opinion & brilliant when it comes to campaigns and strategy is because a huge chuck of the american electorate is sooo dumded down that they can shoot for a 13 years old mental age & an about 100 IQ...just a litte above W's ;)
"Kid's heads are filled with so many nonfacts that when they get out of school they're totally unprepared to do anything. They can't read, they can't write, they can't think. Talk about child abuse. The school system as a whole qualifies. Go to the library and educate yourself if you've got any guts... " - Frank Zappa

Its strategery. Americans have been dumbed down by fear and propaganda. Facts and distorted facts have been reported as equal for 8 years. People in America are misled daily. Truth and Accountability have been knocked down by fear. Every time the truth has even been mildly exposed, we are led to believe -- Nothing to see here, move along! Talking points are used by mainstream media and they basically stick to script. Jon Stewart points it out nightly.
John Stewart is both funny and sad. He spins the sad facts using humor. Sad fact is, his facts are the truth! He uses real footage to illustrate the failings of mainstream media. What will it take to wake up Americans?
Once the President and Vice President are in office, everything they said during the campaign is irrelevant. They are free to govern as they choose. I dont want four more days of the same, let alone four more years! I want a LEADER! Right now, we have a self-professed "decider", one heartbeat away from a "dictator".

Charlie Gipson should not be interviewing her, that will not be an interview, she will donminate the conversation. He will not ask tough questions, so I will not be watching this interview, if she is so tough and ready to be president why don't they let reportes on CNN interview her, like the one that kept asking what executive orders has she given, and the person from McCain corner, was getting madder by the minute because he couldn't answer.

Seriously, they aren't going to expose her if they feel it will be detrimental. Either the list of questions is already known, or she will invoke the Cheneyesque "I am not going to answer that, and frankly, you're out of line for asking."
I'm sorry, but if someone is planning to impose their far right social agenda, then her family values are fair game. Her husbands involvement with a movement that wants Alaskan secession, yeah that's worth asking too.

Look at the so called press during the Bush years. They have been enablers to the max. They were caught showing canned (government made) news as real news. Did they cover it? No, they covered it up. Why? They were as guilty as the individuals who gave them the canned news.
They spun the lead up to war in Iraq. They beat the war drums. They did not focus on the facts, they spun opinions. There can be various opions, but only one truth. They did not look for the truth, they spun facts and distorted facts as equal.
They need to keep the current group of people in power for their very survival. If George W. and Dick Cheney get exposed by the next administration, so do they.

I believe no one is going to ask Gov.Palin any tough questions. They won' ask her why she believe that God ordained the war in Iraq. Or why she believes God wants us to kill Muslums who refuse Christianity or Christ. Why God want Israel to be distoryed for killing Christ. These are her words, not mind. She is so far right, that she is about to fall over the edge. But The News isn't showing the video of her addressing a Graduating High Scool class. They couldn't wait to show a video of a Rev. that they used to try and make Sen.Obama responsable for..
They are all embracing this women and not telling The American people the truth.. WHY?
Why don't they point out the fact the McCain still wants to be a "Hot Doger" and he is still chasing the skirts, just like he did when he was married to his 1St wife... He is Not a Honorable Man. They (McCain/Palin) both claim to be up-standing, honest folks, but yet they don't mind lying if it gets them where they want to go. For Christians, they sure don't show a good example of followers of Christ Teachings..
Heaven help all of us if the truth remains hidden. Gov. Palin did tell the truth when she said and I quote" I am a Pitt Bull in Lip Stick", and this is who we want to represent us over seas?... You might, But I Sure Don't.. We are so much better then this... Wake Up America... - 3 years ago

* doc2's diary :: ::
*Chosen as the first (and so far only) interviewer of Sarah Palin by the McCain campaign, he now says that
"The major development in his campaign obviously is his surprise choice of Sarah Palin," Mr. Gibson wrote. "It took some time in thinking about it, but I finally decided not to even bring up the issues with her family, for they are issues of family and should remain so. Once you know about her daughter’s pregnancy, once you know about her husband’s political interest in the Alaskan Independence Party, once you know about special nature of their latest child, I think that’s enough.
"The relevant questions about Governor Palin, the questions that go to her suitability to serve as vice president, all relate to her experience, or lack thereof, and her policy positions as a mayor and governor in Alaska. Once I decided to restrict the Palin questions to those areas, the interview kind of formed itself," Mr. Gibson wrote.

Palin isn't ready for the job of Vice seat warmer President, much less President when, if mcSame has any medical problems - which he is destined to have at this age.
Look how much EVERY President ages in office. If these are tough times as mcLame declares, how is he going to fair better than EVERY other former President? He's not, it'll be worse on him for his age and medical problems people really aren't talking about.
So, the Ripusoffican's are perfectly content to get mcSame palin' -in the sun- into office since it's clear palin will be a stooge to the money that buys her.

the whole government is horrible. You're not going to change it over night with Obama. Hope and change is like seeing wind. It's not going to happen just because it's said. It's pretty. It's ear tickling, but it's not reasonable.
What McCain has to offer isn't either.
What we have here is who do people like. It has nothing to do with what policies do what. It's gut feelings. People are full of crap if they think that they are being truthful in stating they are voting for Obama because of his policies. Ever listen to one of his speeches? Awesome...but full of nothing but good feelings and hugs.
And people are just swooning....that's because he gives them a good feeling not good policies.
I stab people with words. The difference here is that I admit it without pretending I am all goody goody and stand up for the "good" party.
I stand up for neither.

You're right...the government is horrible, it won't be changed overnight, and people do go with their gut.
I am not a Democrat or a Republican. I don't think my vote will be counted. That doesn't mean I don't have an opinion. My gut tells me that McCain is the same as Bush. My gut tells me that when Bush opens his mouth he lies to America. My gut tells me that Obama doesn't lie every time he opens his mouth, that he has intentions of bringing about change. Does that mean he'll do it...I don't know. Hell, I don't even think he will be allowed into office.
As far as stabbing words and cutting comments. That's a result of human nature heightened by the ananimity of the internet. It won't be changed either. It does, however, keep people thinking, researching, questioning and responding. That can't be all bad.
PS...This is one of your rare posts that feels authentic. Most of the time it seems you're either trying to play devil's advocate or simply piss people off.
