What was it neocongo said? No wonder people are turning to the web for (honest) news? You know why don't you? Because no reputable website will ever even consider accepting payola. Can you say bribery? I see people in many walks of life on a daily basis. They tell me their newspaper's editorial section allegedly backs McCain. The way they look at me, and the tone in their voice indicates they accept that alleged fact as true.So whether I believe that, in both counties of New York I've heard citizens claim it is irrelevant. Because I wouldn't waste my time reading their editorial page so I couldn't verify what they're claiming is a fact anyway. But the real heart of this matter is that it's more likely that someone simply paid them off to write an editorial favorable to McCain. Why? Because not well educated people want to cling to the idea that in the USA they can trust their Newspapers.Me,I'm a noir detective at heart. I've worked at the local newspaper and I've seen a lot of things there that would shock these gullible citizens, but would never phase me. I believe in the
sceptic's principle: Believe none of what you hear,
only 1/10 of what you see, and all of only what you can touch.taste, and especialy smell. My college degree was in Psychology. I know Festinger's 1950's social psych experiments developing his findings on what he termed: "Cognitive Dissonance" in which people could be paid $50 to believe what they'd already admitted to knowing was a lie, but would disbelieve it if paid only $5. Why? The experimental subjects nearly unanimously claimed they didn't think they could be bribed that cheaply. Logic & Sylogisms was also one of my favorite college courses as a math
substitute.Being a Philosophy minor, I studied Logic
avidly and still recall my readings even after 40 years.
Trust me I can tell when someone is reasoning out the truth vs rationalizing what they believe to be false.
The area I live in stands to gain a lot if Obama
is elected, and virtualy nothing if McCain were, so when the local yokels come out with their phony editorials it only reminds me of what we were taught as kids back in the 1950s: That the longest word in the English language is antidisestablishmentarianism. And what is black, white and red all over? You guessed it. By now we all know that Big Oil has been a world wide fuel Monopoly for 150 years, that they have more money than God,which means they have a whole lot of spreading around money-money enough to burn when the average citizen has too little- and when they turn to having low life traitors (Lieberman) commit Election Fraud to Sabotage Albert Gore's 2000 campaign, then drop his act in time to have McCain publicly promise to reward his Crime with a Secretary of State posting...Trust your nose. The Big Oil Fascists want to buy McCain this election. - 3 years ago

A few of those comments were blatantly distorted, and you cannot tell because the videos cut out early. However, some of them were accurate. both candidates have issues, no surprise.

There is no better evidence of McCain not being the right person for the job than his own words against him.
Nice work. - 3 years ago

The main stream media badly need snopes.com style truthiness segments.
Ahhh. That would require investigation. Sorry, I forgot.
Seriously though, we can determine if e-mails are scams or laden with lies, but our media can't do the same. No wonder America is turning to the web for its news.

I think that The media is biased towards McCain. When Obama went to europe hundreds of reporters followed, but when McCain went to the oil rigs only 7 followed him.

I completely agree. Until the mainstream media addresses valid concerns about Palin, the whole internet won't stop fuming about it.
