Losing patience, US demands Russia quit Georgia

An irritated Bush administration accused Russia on Wednesday of trying to find excuses to keep thousands of troops in Georgia in violation of a cease-fire Russia signed with the former Soviet republic last month.

Using unusually blunt language, the State Department said it was well past time for Russia to withdraw most of its soldiers from Georgia's separatist areas of Abkhazia and South Ossetia. A spokesman demanded that Russia do so now.

    • Russian troops are out of Georgia proper. There was nothing in the cease fire about Russian troops having to leave Abkhazia and S.Ossetia, that would be a stupid move because it would leave them to be attacked by Georgia again.

EU monitors are moving into the regions b/w them and Georgia, something Russia agreed to.

Georgian cuisine is very good. Better than your average variety neck-tie, even the presidential kind. ;)

    • Good one US - losing patience and making demands is the best possible way to deal with foreign nations, as proven in countless scenarios, also known as conflicts. I think they call it diplomacy because you're supposed to be diplomatic...

    • His panties are in a bunch because he doesn't have control over the situation.

Look at that headline, U.S. demands? What do we have to demand? What position of leverage or diplomacy can we use to geopolitically isolate Russia at this point? Nothing, nothing at all.

Bush is such a clueless fuck, after having pissed off Russia this badly, the last thing we should be doing is making demands.

    • Ha Ha it sounds like Russia is shaking in its Champagne, he he like they really care about what Bush and Co. want. Russia knows no one in the world likes Bush and Co. and no major power will listen to the paper tiger. It all comes back to bite you on the !@#. If you want them to leave Georgia, leave Iraq and a few other illegally occupied countries and maybe Russia will return the favor. Bush and Co. should be looking for a rock to crawl under and hide from the international law tribunal. Bush and Co. belong in prison instead of trying to get other countries to listen to thier idle threats that they cannot back up. Bush and Co. deserve any disrespect they recieve they worked for it.

    • With the russian journalists dropping like flies it is becoming apparent what is happening. He is literally reverting the country to its previous communist atmosphere. Check out what people are saying about Putin on CongressRatings.com, but be careful not to say anything too bad about him, cause you might be killed in a spy-like manner too.

    • Let me get this straight, the Bush administration wants to know why one country isn't pulling it's troops out of another country?
      Oh, this is priceless.
