DES10, YOU HIT IT RIGHT ON THE HEAD ! ! ! ! !
NOBODY EXPECTS OBAMA TO SINGLE HANDEDLY FIX AMERICA NO ONE CAN DO THIS
EVEN IF IT TAKES JUST ONE (BUSH) TO SINGLE HANDEDLY DESTROY AMERICA
BUT WHAT WE DO EXPECT IS SOMEONE TO BE ABLE TO DO 2 OR MORE THINGS A ONE TIME THIS IS WHAT A PRESIDENT DOES.
HELL MCCAIN IN ALL THESE YEARS DID NOTHING BUT REAP THE AWARDS OF THE MARKETS AND BANKS AND OIL.
DAMN, HE DOES NOT KNOW WHAT THE MIDDLE CLASS FAMILY EARNS A YEAR AND IF YOU DO NOT UNDERSTAND THIS YOU CLEARLY DO NOT UNDERSTAND THE AMERICAN PEOPLE. IT TAKES 2 WORKING ADULTS TO EVEN COME CLOSE TO BEING CONSIDERED MIDDLE CLASS THESE DAYS.
AND WHO'S IDEAL WAS IT TO PLACE HARD WORKING PEOPLE THAT MAKE THIS COUNTRY RUN INTO CLASSES.

Agreed, and then some.

Medical Addendum.
Here at Current, we have witnessed a heavy influx of morbidity-sharers [I'm above caring anymore! Voting gets you nowhere! They're all The SAME! I'm staying drunk! Don't you dare vote!] and career psychopaths [Yer all maggotty wimps! And pussies! And dirt-lovers! And shit-dirstrurbuters! I'm with the morbidity-sharers! Vote-Dumb! Dumb Rules!]
Now we learn of a newer disease.
This new cognitive relapse, Gonorrhea Lectim, indeed could break the Guiness Records for highest seasonal average of cognitive flatliners marching together to the polls on a November expedition.
I believe that many of the still uninfected hoped that with the candidates revealing more of themselves some form of ratiocination could help all voters make the right choice. But now we see that NSTD is viral, possibly transmitted as an aerosol by FOX Noise and other unhealthy sites.
Therefore the previous diagnoisis that voter-aphasia was just hereditary, genetic or a result of 'lotsa whuppins about the head as a sprout' is now displaced. [though the latter fact shouldn't be ignored when diagnosis is attempted.]
More when I recover..

rainbowryan420,
So what do you suggest? Appathy? Of course no one can do it by themselves thats why they have a staff. From what I can see Barak Obama would choose a more competent staff than McCain. Barack Obama has more intelligence and wherewithall than McCain - We are not looking for miricle or a messiah...just someone who can do the freakin job that Bush has clowned around with the past 8 years. McCain is a clown too and Palin...don't get me started. - 3 years ago

The downside of male aging is predictable.
First - it hits you that things aren't working as they once did.
Second - you go out of your way to mask the symptoms.
Third - by masking the symptoms you tip off others that you're in serious trouble.
Fourth - you indulge in selective apprehension: you tell yourself 'I climbed that mountain 40 years ago and it's still the same damn size!' As though you still are as resilient as your pride tells you you are.
I think Senator McCain is in deep trouble - especially if he wins.

Despite Obamas lack of years compared to McCain, I have yet to see or hear of any instance where I would say that Obama has reacted in a flustered manner.
I am amazed with how many diehard republicans I know seem equally as concerned about the wisdom and attitude of their experienced patriotic leader..
Since McCain has been around for so many years and had so much experience, why are there so many reports questioning his actions and public demeanor?
Now as far as what this article asks at the end.. I'm more willing to let someone gain experience if they've continually shown calm and collected respectful leadership.
Time is showing that experience is not the end all requirement. America needs someone who is articulate, collected and willing to adapt to any situation that arises.
I think it's a bit too late in all the years to expect McCain to change anything about the way he has (and will) respond to criticism and stress.

We aren't necessarily condeming a picture. We are pointing out a fact. Whether or not this picture is in conjunction with this issue - the fact remains. McCain is falling apart under pressure. He is unable to multitask or participate in more than one crisis at a time.
If he is elected then he will be our commander in chief. The CIC cannot fall apart when more than one thing goes wrong.
What we are seeing is the person who claims to have the most experience is falling apart at the seems while the one he berates for less experience is holding it together and planning his moves and policies.
You don't need a PICTURE to see that.

It is quite clear that Senator McCains behavior is very “maverick!”
He fumbles, he fumes, and he rants he raves. He claims that “the Vietnam War and the Iraq War were necessary!” Hes been incessantly impulsive with his verbiage and his antics as history will now verify!
He flip-flops constantly! And so finally mainstream media is jumping on his obvious snafus? His cognitive though process is in doubt, he can’t remember certain procedures- how he voted on certain bills and on and on…
This the so-called “maverick” Mccain is the GOP 95 % mirror image of failed policies! He dangles abstract ideas to the public such as we can drill our nation out of the oil problem when countless experts have said otherwise.
He recently said he might change his course and administer new taxes and the next day recanted his own words. He recites populist principles yet everyone knows that his voting record is everything but populist! Why won’t McCain release his full medical history? This should be a requirement to be president! If anyone applies for any sort of job we all have an examination that is made available to all concerned! Is his action regarding his medical records responsible and upright?
The GOP voters picked Mccain in the primary election- so quite crying that the National media scrutiny isn’t fair to him! Is he tough and smart enough? Evidentially not!
And now is this possible 20 hours of combat in total? Shouldnt we be looking for the candidate that didnt get shot down or captured?
The man is an impulsive dunce- he's another war waiting to happen! - 3 years ago

This economic downswing is even scarier if you look back on world history. remember what actually bailed us out of the Great Depression? I'll give you a hint: The New Deal had nothing to do with it. Answer: WWII

This is excellent! Finally we're seeing McCain's "leadership skills" in action and Lordy is it revealing. Finally we're seeing past the GOP Flag-drapped facade and seeing the real McCain and the real McCain appears to be a wildly unqualified elderly man with anger management issues.
While Obama seems to be displaying the cool, confident demeanor of a Grandmaster Chess player....McCain seems like a 7 year old throwing the Monopoly board across the room because he doesn't understand how to play.
"Economics? Me no understand economics!" grunted a visibly cranky McCain to reporters. Aides soon escorted the eldery statesman back to his room to put him down for his nap. "He's getting fussy." the aides explained. "And needs to be changed."
I think the centrist position to take here would be to assign each candidate roles based on their intellectual abilities.
Obama will be President.
McCain will be given Chutes & Ladders and all the milk and cookies he wants.

Here here!!
There is a guy in my office who is impossible to speak to. Has answers for everything. We were debating this morning. I finally raised my eyebrow and asked him to defend McCains current tactic. He said the lame old "he is putting the country first and his campaign second."
I looked him dead in the eye and asked how abandoning his run for presidency puts the country first. I then pointed out that Obama did not see the need to abandon anything and still be able to do what he is asked of this crisis. I asked him what he will do when HIS president(ial candidate) falls apart during high stress periods and is unable to focus on more than one thing at a time.
He had no answer.

It'll be interesting to see if defaulting on home loans will become "unpatriotic" and ostracised as a new form of working man's welfare since the Fed owns so many mortgages... then again, if you're paying AIG for health insurance you're giving back - does that mean that AIG subscribers can expect some tax breaks in their future?

McCain has dementia and is struggling to remain coherent.
The debates could be embarrassing for him. I hope not but I honestly believe there will be too many "deer in the headlights" moments for the viewers to dismiss as gaffs.

This is a good test of what the candidates will be like under pressure. McCain is shifting and reacting and Obama is studying and strategically assessing his moves. Neither is handling the debacle flawlessly but you have to decide which approach you'd want taken if the ultimate decision belonged to one of them.

Well you need to consider that McCain is backed by the same folks who backed Bush...they're pretty narrow in their interests...and they are not the interests of the average person, the middle class. They say they are, but they lie..that's why you are going further and further into debt, and just about to take another big leap as the Bush admin cronies steal what's left this week for Wall street buddies. Has anyone called for those CEOs and Wall Street execs to give back some of the multi million dollar bonuses they've been stealing from the market?

Excuse me for being somewhat cynical about Wall Street and the GOP.
First the GOP controlled administration was either asleep at the wheel or as MyCane boasted Wall Street was "deregulated" In either case the rich folk took home a trillion or two of our hard earned money.
Many wealthy real estate speculators are simply walking away from their bad investments leaving the taxpayer to pick up their financial mess.
Now Bush's "expert" on finance wants to give Wall Street another trillion or two of our children's money and asking Wall Street to be honest this time. I am reminded of the parable about the scorpion and the frog. http://allaboutfrogs.org/stories/scorpion.html
Since no one seems to have any idea how to value the bank derivatives, how do we know if Wall Street is being honest or crying Crocodile Tears while they are stuffing hundreds of billions into the pockets again?
Since the only way to accurately evaluate the derivatives is to examine each and every mortgage, for there are sound and defaulted mortgages mixed together in bundles of thousands of mortgages, why not simply help the homeowner directly?
Helping a family stay in their home seems to me to be better than giving the Wall Street slickos more profits. A home that goes into default is a loss to everyone and a blight on the surrounding neighborhood that depresses the real estate of everyone else.
If the taxpayers help each other, the bad debts of Wall Street will be insured, since no mortgages will be allowed to default, and millions of Americans will be able to remain in their homes and their neighborhoods, and the blight of for-closure signs will be eradicated form the landscape.
I'm betting that using taxpayer money to directly assist the distressed yet hard working homeowner will be far less costly and far more therapeutic for our country and restore confidence in the real estate market much more rapidly.

I wholeheartedly agree with everything you said and your suggestions make perfect sense- help families directly instead of giving our money to the same thieves that messed us up in the fist place. Not sure why this is even a debate?
