Reporters consider Palin boycott over UN coverage access

Interesting that some reporters would go this route for being denied access, but speaks to the major efforts the Rep. campaign is putting into controlling Palin media spin right now...

From the article:

"Journalists, displeased with Sarah Palin’s efforts to restrict their access to her, are threatening not to cover her events surrounding the United Nations conference here unless they're allowed more access.

The unfolding boycott is the latest development in a rocky relationship between Palin’s handlers and the press, in which the campaign has sought to tightly control her interactions with the media.

The campaign had originally indicated that the print reporters following her campaign would be among the small group of journalists allowed to attend the so-called “pool sprays” before Palin’s meetings with dignitaries on the sidelines of the U.N. meetings..."

    • Sarah Palin's meetings with foreign leaders at the UN is eerily reminiscent of Evita Peron's oversees tour, only "virtual" and without benefit of the reaction from the citizens of the individual countries. It's also more like the parading of a potential first lady, rather than the introduction of a vice presidential candidate. Having watered down every potential substantive aspect of these photo ops, the only thing these meetings may prove is that Sarah Palin is capable of not picking her nose when presented to world leaders.

    • This would be a good move and I hope they follow thru. She and her advisors deserve what they get. You reap what you sow.

    • Fine time for the poodle press to start doing their jobs. Better late than never I guess, but will they really do their jobs? If history is indication, the answer is a resounding NO! If they had done their jobs for the past eight years, we wouldnt be in the mess we are in today.

They could have asked the questions which would have saved us from George W, the Iraq War, the ILLEGAL WIRETAPS, the financial crisis and now John McCain and his pittbull Palin. John McCain may not be a good leader, but he knows how to use the press. Better answer would be his Republican handlers know how to handle the press poodles. SAD! SAD! SAD!
