Chris Rock to Obama: 'You can't beat white people, you can only knock them out'

Rocks zinger -- (on who won-the-debates) -- sums up the racial pink elephant sitting over on side lines: 'You can't beat white people, you can only knock them out...'
'Given the past week, the debate should have been a cinch for Obama.' says Maureen Dowd. 'It’s not a lecture hall; it’s a joust. It’s not how cerebral you are. It’s how visceral you are...'
Dowd adds -- 'Even when McCain sneered, I don’t need any on-the-job training, I’m ready to go at it right now, Obama didn’t directly respond, but veered off into a story about his father being from Kenya and how he got his name. (Thanks, Barack, we got that from your book. It’s great for a memoir, but not a debate.)'
Could Obama actually be holding back the big-guns for an October surprise; or, as this aritcle suggests, does he suffer from a touch of that delusional disorder -- (that me, me, me, arrogance) -- so much so, that he's not in touch with what's going on around him??
'Grandiosity is also, more than anything else, what characterizes narcissism, and Obama's narcissism has become obvious to many,' suggests the American Thinker.
Which refers to Obama's posturing as -- 'a self-absorbed narcissist who portrays himself as a political messiah -- the anointed one.'
'Summing up Obama's entire campaign as -- 'nothing more than a demand to be recognized as superior without commensurate accomplishments: has there ever been a presidential nominee with a wider gap between his estimation of himself and the sum total of his lifetime achievements?'
Not sure if I buy into the whole narcissist-angle. I mean wasn't Jesus Christ the ultimate narcissist? -- Telling people he was the only way to heaven. And look at all the good he left behind.
'I kinda think anyone spouting real change has to be a bit of narcissist to evoke others to get off their collective fat-asses.

They are comedians...like Dave Chappelle. Are we really going to give them that much credibility? Now, if it was Thomas Sowell...I might actually give it some thought.
However, it was still funny.

I've been reading the comments on here...gotta love Chris Rock line about 'bacon' ...I get that Chris and Bill are trying to make light of the facts here -- but, behind every joke lies some truth. Race relations will play a role in this election....and that should be discussed on some level....Don't ya think?

Maureen Dowd is one of the worst op-ed writers in the game.
Chris Rock gave gave as good as he got from Mahr teasing each other about blacks and whites.

I'm not talking about a 'poll' here. I'm talking about the USSC.

There's a major disconnect with what people think, and what they are willing to say (as polictically correct ) -- to someone on the phone taking a poll about race. We are not very honest....that aside, the fact that being popular or the popular vote might also not be enough to win an election (as with Gore) is also evident.
Its definately going to come very very close and this election on those battle ground states, each vote will count (and maybe recounted)....HenryCruz.com

Why does he always have to put all white people down?Oh, but that's OK because he's black, right? If he remembers 2000, Al Gore had that election stolen from him as we all did, and as Bill Maher also told him in this interview he is as white as you can get.

o also, he is right...
everyone in politics is against him, except the public voter; all of Obamas hopes and dreams sounds nice, but when he gets into office, congress is the one that makes the final decision anyway, so Obama can talk it, but it wont stand up...
and who's mostly in politics u say?! mostly white people...thats what he means.. - 3 years ago

Owned! Mr. women be shoppin women be shoppin himself let everyone know that yes Obama is Black, and that matters much more because there's never been a black president, but at the same time afforded the possibility that although Obama has the most popular message his ability to get it into action has yet to be seen, but that the idea of change that he is bringing is needed!

If you get an e-mail with "Nude Photos of Sarah Palin" in the subject line, do not open it. It might contain a virus.
If you get an e-mail with "Nude Photos of Michelle Obama," do not open it.
It might contain nude photos of Michelle Obama.

WHITE GUILT WILL NOT WIN THE PRESIDENCY.
You've heard of vanity books. Books that are published, because the person, who is rich and famous want a book about themselvies.
2008 is the year of the Democratic vanity campaign for Blacks. At the end of the campaign, Blacks will say, we are proud of Obama, and he should have been president.
The only time he mentioned the white vote was the infamious clinging to guns, and religion. Although, Obama never mentioned White Guilt, he implied it. He courted every minority by recounting their victimhood without mention, that they were the victims of Whites. Obama's only mention of whites is that of his grandmother's racism, and that white males are bitter.
White guilt is not going to win the presidency. White guilt is good as a civil rights tool, but not as a claim for the power of the president. The president must be president for everyone.
The President is not the warrior for one group over another.

If your analogy between blacks and vanity held forth for whites, every campaign since the first has been campaign for whites.
No matter the ability, the black was excluded from the highest office because of white racism.
As you state, guilt has never put anyone in office. But white privilege have kept plenty white ones in office.
Sen. Obama has refused to attend conventions held by Rev. Sharpton and Tavis Smiley in order to silence critics who find his populist platform threatening and therefore favoring blacks and other so called "minorities.".
Sen. Obamas's website has a click for whites specific to ethnicity.
One drop of black blood constitutes you to be black .
Read Plessy v Ferguson.Laws can change overnight. Peoples attitudes take longer.
