Thats like what they wanted to do with this bailout plan; give them money and not restrict its use. We get the money that should be tax money and force them to use it to help, not hurt.

Taxing certain activities, such as their political activities or televangelism, and not taxing others, such as their community work and charitable deeds, might be an effective way to depoliticize these churches and get them to act more like a community organization than the PR wing of a political party. Some other things have been ignored for far too long as well, such as the income of evangelists, some donations (such as cars, jewelry, etc.), the size of some of these mega-churches, etc.

But why should churches have to be giant boxes in the middle of suburbia? Why can't they be coffee shops, parks, or anywhere where a group of people who share the same faith can worship?
