Diplomats briefed on the matter say President Bush signed off on the move on Friday in a bid to salvage a faltering disarmament accord aimed at getting North Korea to abandon atomic weapons. But they say North Korea will be put back on the list if it doesn't comply with the inspections.
The diplomats spoke on condition of anonymity because the State Department has not yet announced the step. It comes as North Korea moves to restart a disabled nuclear reactor and takes other actions that threaten the agreement.

I guess that means we don't want to fight a 4 front war. Or they finally realized they can't win a 4 front World War.

With a wink and a nod, and possibly fingers crossed behind the back. Hopefully someone in our government is smart enough to keep an eye on any maniac with a nuke.

its funny this countries (USA) issues and so on is like watching two dogs at a park one sniffs ones ass growls. We move into territories that we are not wanted. WE honestly crave for blood shed. The other dog gets so annoyed that he flips around and catches our nose. We get pissed off and attack back. Next thing you know the owners are being charged with (dog fighting) aka war crimes... and the only thing that had to happen in the beginning is if the US would just take its tail put it between its legs and keep its not so brown nose. Point made we piss people with attacks, bombings, spying, control, and allegations, and before we get bit back our citizens are behind it because we are lead to believe we are safe in the impenetrable fortress of souls across the ocean... what happened in WW II when people thought all was sweet ? ah thats right a slap on the ass with something bigger than a rolled up newspaper. Im not screaming be afraid of this or that im just agreeing we need to stop somewhere so we can by ourselves some time. Powerful world leaders fall at some time they always do hell Hitler did and so did Saddam only because they beat us to the end. lets stop why we are still five feet behind insted of six inches.

I agree iloveravi, and since I fought hard on the people front not too have the Bush crime family elected, they still managed to steal 2 election's. Shame on us for not storming the White house in 2004. My apologies too the world for not stopping these criminals. Their are way to many people pissed off and out of work this time if they steal this election. I can't say for sure this time will be different or not, but I myself believe Obama is too far out in front too lose from a stolen election.

johnA, no the Dear Leader and his regime are not my bag but are you so blinded by your jingoism you don't see how the usa is the same?
Remember Paulson taking the mic to announce the ridiculous bailout plan? He sounded like a North Korean at a press conference. George bush is a great boss and a great leader, he is doing a great job....blah blah blah.....
Not to mention that you are in fact a fascist nation by any reasonable subjective assessment.
It's hard to admit but get out of the tank for a bit and look at the fish.
You ain't in the free ocean anymore.

I'm glad we're removing the country that actually HAS forced labor camps, kangaroo courts, and a Big Brother-like society from the terror list. Good game America.

Among other things, the Guardian UK reports that Senator McCain is not okay with this latest move.
"I expect the...(GWB)...administration to explain exactly how this new verification agreement advances American interests and those of our allies before I will be able to support any decision to remove North Korea from the list of state sponsors of terrorism."
He was, "...concerned that this latest agreement appears to have been reached between Washington and Pyongyang and, only then, discussed with our Asian allies in an effort to garner their support."
