    • If losing is exactly where McCain wants to be - weeks later he's still there and falling! John's some kinda special masochist-warrior alright!

Even the FOX pols show Barack ahead - beyond the margin of error!

      Whhooo-who!

But keep the cheerleading going - you have no facts to support your claims.

WE have all sorts of facts to support our claims. Todd Palin was a registered member. Sarah Palin atteneded several conventions and addressed tyhe convention this ytear. The former hewad of the AKIP Mark Chryson said he's been close friends with the Palin's for 15 years and claims to have helped her political career.

I stipulate to your "facts" with the exception of the VP attending AIP Conventions.

At issue is the interpretation of those facts.

You conclude that these facts expose her as...er, well...

Come to think of it, I am really not sure at all what it is that you are saying this "proves" about the VP.

On the other hand, Ayres = terrorist...Rezko = criminal...Wright = Racist. Irrefutable facts. BHOs affilliations with these undesireables is documented out the wazoo.

Oh, by the way. Did you see the article exposing that the Scranton reporter who broke the Kill Him shouts from the Palin croud made it all up!?!

All of your rants about Mccain and Palin not diffusing the hate mongers at their ralleys have a gensis to this Scranton story.. A total fabrication!

      Lemmings!

      Boo...Halliburton....Boo...Chaney...Boo!

    • Wow, that is great news! This is closer than McCain has been since the economy hit the skids!

Notice how many of these are within the typical statistical margin of error?

America is hearing about BHOs affilliations with criminals, terrorists, racists and con-men and reacting!

America is now seeing the REAL effects of BHOs tax scam and can see it for the jobs killer that it is!

      Whooohooo!

    • DS53:

DS53 and thanks to John McCains "strategery" of using Joe the plumber, we are all reminded of John McCain and the "CROOKS" of the early 90's - The Keating Five! John McCain is tied to the Keating Five Crooks! Joe the plumber has ties to the Keating Five Crooks, close ties to the crooks.

John McCain should be held accountable, he was trying to mislead Americans. He knew! He must have thought we were all stupid. Dont just move along! Hold John McCain accountable!

    • Wow! I really don't think that I can accept Salon.com as a credible source on this puppy! Notice how the CNN boob puts the words in the Salon guuys mouth.

A right wing outfit that Mr Palin joined but was never active in.

A couple of guys in tiny Wasilla who share some idealogical traits with Palin. One a Burtcher and the other an AIP member. And they WORK TOGETHER!!!

A politician pandering to a quasi-powerful organization in her State. SHOCKING!!

Even the Salon guy said that the AIP was benign but they share ideals of right wing bombers. Just which ideal is that, dude? Second Ammendment, maybe? Doesn't matter to you, does it! Just as long as you can assert a connection for your story.

I would call this shameless leftist garbage but we all know that there is no left wing bias at CNN so it cannot be that!

    • DS53:

I am glad to hear your encouragement toward your feelings for Gov Palin. News is news if the story is not credible most would never know because she does not speak to the media, but we suppose to trust her to talk to other foreign countries on America's behalf "PLEASE." She want even talk to the American people without a prepared speech. I don't want ordinary, I want exceptional in a presidental candidate this is the ultimate job. If you want ordinary, then DS53 you run for VP. Hopefully no cob-webs in closet. McCain vetted Palin like he vetted "Joe the Plumber." I agree with AveryMoore, keep up the cheerleding!

    • Kudos to Obama for demonstrating superhuman restraint in not running 24hr ads showing Palin's support for this bizarre America-hating cult.

I doubt he's campaign team was unaware of it.

Shows Obama has a lot more class than McCain!

Whereas McCain is running hate ads nonstop calling Obama a terrorist because he once served on a charity board with Bill Ayers...Obama has (so far) declined to get in the mud and run "Oh yeah? What about Palin's support for America-haters?" ads.

    • I am not mad at the AKIP either. But don't be part of an Alaskan secessionist group and then join a ticket that says country first. Its the hypocrisy stupid

    • I must say, I was shocked to see CNN covering this. Apparently so was the McCain Campaign, they sent a scathing message to CNN, but no spokesperson.

    • Conniepae:

      Conniepae,

Me too. Shocked while watching, but afterwards no.

Look at the success of Keith Olberman and now Rachel Maddow in terms of ratings - nothing else - just ratings.

Above all else this is why networks exist. No surprise then the status quo was maintained for as long as possible, but numbers were monitored, just in case.

Disenchantment with the neocon agenda, the economic basket case created by deregulation, the incredulous public response when both McCain and Palin evaded answers to questions they were supposed to be experts in, it was all treated like a market correction. A brief setback in a self-correcting system which would right itself as soon as the McCain team found the right message.

But then people like Susan Eisenhower said - thanks, I'm leaving - and following that a flood of other names backed away.

People like Olberman were getting rave reviews.

      What to do?

Stay on message and get thumped in the wallet? Or see what happens when you follow a blog story and try to cash in on the attention?

At this point only 191 people on Current have looked at this page. But how many CNN viewers and more across the net are now wondering - what's CNN going to come up with next on Palin?

It appears real investigative journalism is making a comeback.

    • I agree with AIP's contention that my Federal government is my worst enemy. They really are.

      1) endangers my life my torturing and killing innocent nationals in foreign countries who then want to retaliate with kidnappings and bombs.

      2) allows corporations to pollute my environment.

      3) allows corporations to charge usurious interest rates and fees that I am not allowed to charge. It's called usury and is prohibited by federal law unless you are a corporation.

      4) lies to me about most everything they are doing.

      5) allows dangerous drugs on the market.

      6) the list goes on and on.

    • So, during a CNN interview the McCain camp complains by email that the Alaska Independence Party is the equivalent to a religious organization with Obama as a member?

A slightly unique organization which seeks to break away and become independent from the United States...

      Some Religion!

      Some equivalence!
