The strategy reminded me of an old Pistons player Bill Lambier (spelling?) who if a member of the other team came anywhere near him , he would fall to the floor and writhe in feigned agony and had many fouls called by this method. It was an artform that he really mastered and was very entertaining. McCain did the same thing tonight in his own .old brokedown way.Just as stupid.Bills freethrows were nothin' but net, McCain , nothin' but air.

McCain has converted his campaign into a total attack based platform. He's fallen pretty far behind in the polls and he is getting vicious. Why cant both candidates just show people their ideas, tell us ,in description, their policies and not try to persuade us with stupid slogans and random things that hardly matter like the Ayers or Keeting 5 scandals. It almost seems like simply trying to go for a class of stupidity, WE ARE NOT IDIOTS! Why are we treated like children.

i agree with mmoore. i remember when someone said that American idol gets more votes than the presidential election and frankly i'd like to keep it that way. I don't want some idiot voting for the wrong person because of some catchy jingle, or advertisment on Television, or what someone said on an internet blog. It's all about the fallacy of immediacy these days. information, food, education, even breath mints where all you have to do is place a strip on your tongue. what i'm saying is make a rational judgement and research the stuff before you say it.

God Bless you and your family, after 3 years of waiting, losing our house and lots of dignity, I finally was made aware that I was approved for Social Security Disability just this week.
I will pray for you and your family, SSDI is the most messed up system for people who have the tragedy of disability.
There needs to be a complete restructuring of Social Security, and I do really pray you don't have to go through the entire 3-4 yr process like we did. It nearly broke our family, we moved from a 3,000sq ft house to a $2,000 1974 mobile home on my parents farm.
Just hold your family close and know they are the true wealth on your life. If you ever need or want to talk, email me at familychiefs@embarqmail.com, my name is Dave.

No fucking joke. I have never worked for a business owner (other than myself) that when seeing large profits, spread it down to their employees. Politicians know so little about what a common everyday worker deals with when dealing with their company's ownership. I would love higher taxes to be put on some of the owners I have worked for so they could see for a change what its like to go without a prescription to have gas money to go to work.

darbygirl_KY:
This mini article you scrounged up is pathetically skimpy on the details of his plan. His economic plan is actually very well thought out because it reaches into all the corners of the government, all the backs of closets and underneath desks and eliminates those "$100 hammers" that they purchase and replaces them with the $9 ones you and me buy. Do you understand? no one's economic package will make everyone happy all the time. Especially after we have to dig ourselves out of the debt we have put ourselves in.
From article:
"But I don't think that adds up. Take, for instance, eliminating those Bush tax cuts on top earners. That might gain $50 billion a year, assuming no negative economic effect. But Congressional Budget Office estimates already assume that the Bush tax cuts expire at the end of 2010. So Obama gains nothing beyond, perhaps, a one-year bump in 2010 if he repeals the tax cuts a year earlier."....
and then the argument and the overall article pretty much end.
I am all for stating alternate views on this plan and pulling it apart. That is how we get progress. But if you do this please use details and really present theories. I don't want to hear from some guy who wrote an essay on the plan, I want to hear what pieces you have an issue with and what you would do differently.

Furthermore, in addition to redvelvet1278s comment, the journalist that wrote the article that Mirab posted is just a journalist with a degree in journalism and soviet studies. Nowhere in his biography does it state that he has been educated in economics. his article sounds professional if you dont question a thing he is saying.
