The group of 50 uncommitted voters should have at least been receptive to McCain--Republicans and Independents outnumbered Democrats in the group by almost 4 to 1, and they started the evening with much warmer responses to McCain than to his Democratic opponent, Barack Obama. But by the time it was all over, so few of them had declared their support for McCain that there weren't enough for Greenberg to separate them into a post-debate focus group. Meanwhile, the Obama supporters had to assemble in two different rooms to keep their discussion groups manageable.
----
No word yet from the McCain camp as to when or if Sen. McCain will demand a formal apology from the Undecides for hurting his feelings.
Sen. McCain also issued a statement declaring that he was disappointed that Sen. Obama did not denounce the Undecides and then give the him an encouraging hug.

What was even funnier was how he continually referred to Palins kid as having autism... when he has down syndrome.
But since he met her only twice before he selected her I guess he didn't have a chance to figure that out.

Jawnybnsc,
Senator Obama wasn’t the only one laughing... if you let the polls tell it the majority of viewers were laughing right along with him!
I KNOW I WAS!!!
There are times when you hear something so incredibly ludicrous your natural reaction is to laugh. When McCain started on his emotional grandstand about repudiating offensive comments… I laughed so hard I almost cried! I mean seriously… McCain supporters have been RECORDED shouting “terrorist” and “kill him”. His own running mate used the incendiary phrase "paling around with terrorists" and stuffed animals likening Obama to monkeys have been spotted at McCain/Palin rallies! One woman stood up and stated she does not trust Obama “because he’s an Arab”.
(on a side note I would like to know when being Arab American or Muslim become a crime in this country? But I digress…)
My point is this: All that hate speech and hate mongering has taken place at McCain’s own campaign EVENTS! Under HIS WATCH! And not once has McCain expressed during his rallies that hate and racial epithets will not be tolerated! With all that said McCain made it CLEAR in last nights debate that he desired an apology from Obama for comments that were made by some unaffiliated politician…
That “my friends” is laughable!
His heartfelt moment was nothing short of sketch comedy and I cannot WAIT to see what SNL does with this new material!
McCain could hardly contain his anger! I found his lack of discipline and attempt to change the topic to unimportant accusations amusing.
(still laughing)

are you kidding me? Obama is the ugliest man I have ever seen. That big mole was staring at me the whole debate. He is quite possibly the Anti-Christ. He has never done a thing his whole career. I do think he is a pathological liar, because I will give him this he is good at it. He looks in the camera and lies about his relationship with Ayers, He lied about his relationship with Rev. Wright, he lies about his relationship with ACORN. He is the scariest man to ever run for office. If he is elected I will be physically ill that Americans would be so stupid to elect this moron. He will doom the world. God help us all if this pycho-path gets elected.

News Flash-
The Plumbers, Pipe Fitters Union of the United States has endorsed Barack Obama-
Stating that Obama has the guts, the intelligence, and the plan to take the nation forward and away from the conservative theology that has nearly destroyed our beloved nation!"Joe the plumber" may vote for Mccain- but this ringing endorsement signifies that the real “Joe the Plumbers” with licenses and all will vote for the better suited candidate to move us forward- Seanator Obama!
Heres yet another microcosm of McCains political culture...
Arizona-
near last in the union for health care...
near dead last in education...
a right to work state-which means, you are underpaid
for your work and your skill while your health care is awful and expensive!Sound familar?
In twenty six years of service what does Mccain have to show?
No legislature for the science and or implementation of sustainable energy/solar despite AZ. being number one for the amount of sunshine available!
What’s Mccain biggest feat- he provided the Indian nations/reservations with gambling- whiskey too!Mccain-he never met a war he didn’t vote for!
Ugly- darn right its ugly!
No more Colloquial prop ups!
The nation needs intelligent, wise, unassuming leaders. If eight years haven’t taught us this then we are doomed! - 4 years ago

So besides having the government help you with education, healthcare, getting a job do you also need them to wipe your ass? Come on you really need to get a clue. It is not the job of the government to do any of this, it is your job! The federal government should only be there to protect us via the military and other essential tasks. You are responsible for your education, healthcare etc. If you can't afford them then don't have children. They shouldn't be my responsibility, because you are irresponsible and don't take care of this yourself. Did your parents not instill a work ethic and a sense of personal responsibility. If a candidate has a program for any of these things we should all run!

so the government should stop funding education, should stay out of healthcare, and shouldn't give a damn about the unemployment rate in our country, and people shouldn't have kids they can't afford....
well I sort of agree with you, we need abortion so that people don't have to have kids they can't afford, our elected officials should not be in bed with the insurance industry i(f they cant buy our officials we might have a chance at getting affordable insurance) now we differ on unemployment and education...
are you suggesting that we do not fund any education? What are you really talking about here...
and should our government not be concerned about what happens to areas where jobs are lost?... plant closing?... companies going overseas?... if your neighbors home goes into foreclosure that brings down the value of your own home... tell me again why we shouldn't care about each other?

Sen. Obama had the demenure of a Presidential incumbent.
Outsiders unfamilair with either candidate would assume that Sen. Obama was the distinguish veteran and that Sen. McCain was the upstart with no experience.
The myth of John McCain is that he's a distinguished debator....and yet it was clear during all 3 debates that his performance was positively abysmal.
The legend of John McCain is butting up against reality. The "skills" this man allegedly had after 30 years in the Senate seem to be totally nonexistent.
His debate style seemed to consiste entirely of interrupting constantly, talking louder and louder and throwing out a bewildering barrage of Straw Man arguments and outright lies.
Obama looked pained at having to waste time "debating" John and the rest of us were in pain having to watch him.

The findings the Journal trumpeted this time around is that the Senate's most liberal member in 2007 was Sen. Barack Obama. (gasp!) That puts him ahead of, for example, Wisconsin Sen. Russ Feingold. Oh, and it also puts him ahead of an actual socialist, Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders.
So, apparently, Obama is more "liberal" than an actual socialist? You'd think he be advocating for a single-payer healthcare plan.....but he's not. Which just goes to show how hollow (and desperate) the Right is becoming in trying to find some mud to throw at Obama, even going so far as to try to pain him as some out of control liberal....when he is actually a moderate by any standard.
The actual point of the Huffington Post article (and this thread, in case any forgot by now) is that Independents and Undecideds are LAUGHING at McCain during the final debate.
How can a man with so much "experience" as John McCain be so utterly tone deaf to to what the voters are feeling?
Judgement. Character. Temperment. Intelligence.
During the final debate Sen. McCain demonstrated once and for all that he has NONE of the above.

Read it and weep?
As if that actually means anything?
Facts are facts:
Conservatives consider single-payer healthcare a "liberal" position -- Sen. Obama is not in favor of that.
Conservatives consider opposition to clean coal and nuclear energy "liberal" positions -- Sen. Obama is NOT opposed to nuclear or clean coal.
Conseravtive consider impeachment a "liberal" position -- Sen. Obama has never supported an impeachment vote.
So again I ask you....do YOU in your personal opinion truly consider Sen. Obama to be the most "liberal" Senator?

Forgetting race for a moment (I don't think its really playing much of a role int he race, imho) let's look at the label of "most liberal Senator ever."
Really?
So Sen. Obama is to the LEFT of Sen. Kuccinich?
Really? Seriously? You can say that with a straight face> Kuccinich who has adovcated for a full government run healthcare system AND has voted to impeach Bush like 50 times is more Conservative than Sen. Obama?
Whereas many Dems want a single-payer healthcare system....Sen. Obama does not.
Whereas many Dems refuse to consider nuclear or clean coal or offshore drilling....Sen. Obama has clearly embraced those options.
Whereas many Dems demand an immediate withdrawl from Iraq....Sen. Obama has drawn flack from his own party because he has insisted that he would only withdrawl in accordance with and as conditions on the ground allow.
Doesn't exactly seem like extreme Left wing positions to me....or anyone else really.
Sen. Obama is a moderate.
Like when he voted FOR tort reform when many in his own party voted against it.
So plainly the Republican Talking Point that Sen. Obama is "most liberal Senator" (said with breathless, panicked hysteria) is just plain ridiculous.

I'm so sick of people playing the race card. You might have a point if Obama, in addition to being black, weren't the MOST LIBERAL SENATOR there is. All I know is this. I am SO sick and tired of all these racist WHITE people who continue to slander this man’s name. it is SO sad that this country is so afraid of a BLACK man being president that they would continue to stoop to ludicrous tactics. But when you’re black, it’s not appalling, it’s what you’re used to! It’s amazing what FEAR will do to people and how LOW it will make them go!!
Obama can’t do anymore harm to this country than what has already been done-by WHITE men, I may add. It’ not black men who has made this country the way that is, a black man has NEVER sat in the presidential chair, so what this country is going through does not have a black man’s finger print on it. You racist WHITE people, can blame your white man. You don’t think that if Obama’s campaign spent enough time focusing on digging up dirt on MCPAIN they wouldn’t find any?? Yeah right. This is a man who’s ‘hero’ was Reagan—we all know how he was, and he closely follow Bush (supported over 90% of what he’s done to the country)!! So of course you would find dirt on him and bones in his closet. I’m SO sick of the racist WHITE people in this country pretending as if this is first politician to have had things like this in his past or present. Do your research, there are presidents who actually made it to the whitehouse who were involved with fraud, crimes, the mob, racism, amongst other things. So stop acting as if all presidents have been squeaky clean. But I guess as long as he’s WHITE that makes it okay. And he can deny until he’s blue in the face. MCPAIN is a racist!! If he supports people saying to ‘kill’ another human being, if he supports people walking around at his rallies holding MONKEYS with Obama stickers on them—he’s racist!! Period!! And if he supports an era where women had no control over the choices that they want for THEIR bodies, then he supports an era that promoted segregation, inequality, jim crow, and racism as well, and he can’t say anything different. And it’s not a mystery how it seem like ALL his followings are WHITE people—haven’t seen or heard from a minority yet in favor of him!!
Last but not least, here’s a 411 for all you racist WHITE people who will be running to polls placing your vote for him. MCPAIN doesn’t care about YOU either. He cares about your VOTE!! If you’re not a veteran or in the military, he don’t give one iota about you!! He’s even said it, made it loud and clear—“I love my veterans and I will take care of you” –sound familiar?? MCPAIN doesn’t relate to the average American person, no matter what race you are!! His intentions are to screw you over just like everyone else, he doesn’t care about you, he just needs your vote right now, you’re expendible to him. And you all must LOVE what Bush has done to the country because believe it or not MCPAIN is about to continue Bush’s mistakes, and make some terrible ones of his own, and do you know who’s going to suffer for it?? We are. ALL of us, Yea, that includes you racist WHITE people too. You’ll be suffering right along with us!! So go ahead and vote based on SKIN COLOR instead of what is being laid before you. Cast your vote and leave Obama alone!!! - 4 years ago

Obama voters all so blinded by their hatred for bush and the current economic situation that they are just falling for pandering and the same old old political trickery that has always gone on. Being the most sauve, collected, or the best public speaker does not qualify a person for the presidency. George W was far from qualified and you see where it got us?? Sen. Obama appeared to the Prssidential incumbent in the debate. He was cool, calm, focused and totally in control.
Sen. McCain, however, seemed to swinging for the fences with every sentence! He conducted himself like a nervous rookie that (sigh) just didn't know what the hell was going on.
And the constant mugging for the camera didn't help.
I think just about everyone was wondering, "Is McCain gonna pull this kind of ham-fisted, juvenile antics with other world leaders?"
Remember when Pres. Bush gave that deeply inappropriate shoulder rub to German Chancellor Angela Merkel....and then she flinched, pulled away and glared at him?
Um....I don't think we need a repeat of that kind of behavior with other world leaders and McCain's wild Charlie Chaplin-esque mugging for the camera really scared the hell out of a lot of people who thought he was a serious candidate.
