John McCain calls JFK's assassination an "intervention"

Marilynn_Murray, I think it was a Freudian slip too. But Joe the plumber wasnt. Misinterpreting what Obama said about redistribution of wealth wasnt an accident. He distorted Barack Obama"s words. I"m sick of it!
It was actually probably poor sentence structure, but this election is important to me! I don"t want to "get over it" again. Mainstream media should stop covering Joe the plumber. They are wasting precious time, spinning Joe the plumber?

julesrs007,
Which part do you want pitied?
The $500 million magic carpet?
The 8 houses?
The trophy wife?
The 13 cars?
The uninterrupted career in the Senate?
Or the inability to think - Damn, I'm one lucky guy!
Is it unreasonable to expect someone so blessed to measure what life has given him and think - Maybe it's time to like people and stop making them compensate me for what happened before most of them were even born...

I KNOW IT IS DIFFICULT... BUT TRY TO TAKE PITY ON MCCAIN.
IT WAS ALMOST SAD WATCHING THE LAST DEBATE... MCCAIN DEVELOPED A 'LITTLE DOG COMPLEX'.
WHAT ELSE DID HE EXPECT?

Listen again,
McCain says quite clearly "...before the intervention of the tragedy at Dallas..."
The "tragedy" intervened, he never said the assassination was an intervention.
C'mon people. Grasping for straws this way makes us look foolish - please leave that to Sarah. She's busy telling America which parts of the country are "Pro-American."
That's gotta be worth millions of votes - lost - right there.
Which states are America haters in Sarah's mind? Any guesses?

AveryMoore:
If you look at the body language you see he tries to "shove' the words back in, a common gesture. it indicates a desire to "take back" something just said. There is no "of", its an "un" or verbal filler, he offers "tragedy" as a substitute. There would be no need for the hand gesture if what you said were accurate. That is not a random gesture, but a common one that has meaning.

Phoenixtoo,
Can't comment on body language. Not a believer.
Cold hands, cold feet? To a diabetic it has a totally different meaning. Slurred speech - PTSD, stroke, aphasia, alcohol, meds, there are any number of possible triggers which can result in observed behavior. And no objective way to sift through merely by viewing.
As to the behaviour of grumpy old men, as one of them I recognize his fatigue, and still hear McCain trying to say that what intervened between the meeting of two men was a tragedy - not an assassination as intervention.
Perhaps you have access to a stress meter and can try to verify what, to both of us, is obviously a subjective interpretation.

it is not news for most of us posting here that it WAS an "intervention"
yeah, it most likely was a sign that he knows more than he says
now, what politician does not know more than he/she admits to? what military person does not? what religious person does not? what ceo does not?
attacking him for an age related gaffe makes me sad, attacking him so he tells the truth is useless.
he is not responsible for the web of laws and lawyers that keep the truth from all of us, we are, and we should not be blaming mccain for an age related glitch.and yes, the nose touching does not help.
regardless, this does confirm that for many the end (monopoly of power) does justify the means, which we also knew.
social power is the only kind of power that can be monopolized, and this is what those who have allowed this monopoly to continue, think of assassination.
i do not know of anything that can be done to counteract such believes

Connie thinking in the dark recesses of your mind that assassination of a man was an intervention is far worse than anything else this man has done. It is evil and sick.

What a sick son of a BITCH! And ugly, too! I don't want to look at that ugly ass for 4, make that 8, years. That is for sure. He's no good anyway. Got nothing to offer this country. He's also a bit too buddy-buddy, chummy-chummy with that rotten, stinking Bush. I know...this is not an intelligent post, but every now and again, you just gotta SCREAM!

What happened to the talking heads who keep chewing on Joe the plumber. "INTERVENTION" is not a word one would use by accident? Why couldn"t he say the word "ASSASSINATION"?
I thought it strange when he said it, but I don"t have TiVo and could not replay it. Today, I found it on the internet and thought I would see what others thought.
Did he say it by accident? Enough is enough. It"s time for mainstream media to start talking about more than one topic. I"m sick of Joe the plumber!
If you think I"m picking on John McCain, your wrong. What he says matters! No free passes, this is too important. We let the talking heads talk Americans into believing we wanted a man who could not talk in complete sentences, to be President, because we wanted to have a beer with him?
This is too important! Cute doesnt matter, old doesnt matter, LEADERSHIP does! I dont want a Leader who chooses the word "intervention" instead of what it was, an "assassination". (period)
