The Mary Kay Green claims some statements made about Democratic presidential hopeful Barack Obama at an out-of-state rally terrify her as much as John F. Kennedy's assassination.
Her lawsuit claims McCain's campaign "intentionally, recklessly and irresponsibly portrayed presidential candidate Barack Obama as un-American, a terrorist by association, and "not like us," a non-white individual.Neither the McCain nor the Obama campaign offered comment on the lawsuit, but privately, Green said the Obama campaign wants the lawsuit dropped.
"It will be dismissed as soon as I hear these public statements from these two candidates that they abhor these death threats and they will not tolerate these intruders in their audiences," Green said.
It also accuses Palin of working a crowd at a rally into a frenzy "causing them to make death threats against presidential candidate and U.S. Senator Barack Obama with her audiences shouting "kill him," "off with his head," "terrorist," "Muslim terrorist."
"It strikes terror in my heart," Green said.

waahoa. nobama girl. Is that your opinion about the "White (only) House". Or have been double dosing on your fox reports...Dems have maintained the KKK. So, if this is your opinion..then..someone who has done civil rights work is practicing racism. That can't be what you're saying. Don't forget Civil Rights did Much more for the greater minority than just black folk. Women in particular benefited a great deal from the civil rights movt. also. I'd like to see some proof of Mccain gaining in anything.

Is that why LBJ a democrat did more for civil liberties in this country than any other president since Lincoln? Parties are nothing to make generalized statements about. And that's for everyone on this site. I hate hearing and "all the conservatives and republicans" too...

No, the Democrats founded and have maintained the KKK. Sarah doesn't have a Racist cell in her body. Unlike BHO who has practiced racism his whole career. Don't forget divisiveness and class warfare.McCain is gaining, on to THE WHITE HOUSE he richly deserves it.

Great idea! I hope she goes all the way with it. If she felt terrified, she felt terrified. Deal with that. When someone is speaking to a crowd they need to be very careful not to give people the wrong impression. Not so with Sarah Palin. She was on a roll and enjoying every minute of it. GOP, the party of family values...what a freakin joke. It's more like the party of the KKK.

either way its a political campaign, and i dont think personal lawsuits should come into play

International hate-artists like McCain and his backup hater Walin' Palin warn the auidence before every show that this is not for kids.
McCain's hate rallies are adult-oriented entertainment and McCain mangement the RNC have taken great care to make sure everyone who attends is informed of the content.
As a performer McCain is entitled to do his show the way he wants to.
If he wants to burn an effigy of Obama on stage while screaming "Obama hates Israel!" while throwing bloody doll parts into the audience -- as a hate-performer I think McCain is protected under the 1st amendment.
If you don't like McCain's hate speeches and/or his hate-oriented performance art then don't go.
Of course it might be different if McCain weren't a performance artist and was -- I don't know -- running for President....but as a performer I think he's probably protected.

Has this woman ever heard of freedom of speech? My God!
Im not saying that I support the coments that were made but just because someone is expressing their personal opinion does NOT mean that they should be sued.
The real issues should not hold a backseat to people LOOKING for something to complain about. For the whole duration of this election I have personally heard more about things like this than about what really matters.

im not sure that people of thier political and national standard should be held to any level different then the regular joe.
the radio/tv host that made racial and sexual explict comments about the basketball team was fired.talking to a group envokes the group mentality. also racial comments have no place in society today. we as a progressive society should not tolerate a backwards step in history.
it also looks to me like they are playing the race card. (which will backfire) - 3 years ago

I agree with the grandmother. While McCain and Palin have NOT straight out said that Obama is a terrorist, they have promoting the idea in many ways like tying him to Bill Ayers and saying he's "paling around with terrorists." They also have done nothing to stop the hate speech that has been yelled out at their rallies and it only continues to get worse.

It's the same with Obama, Terry. His followers think he's some kind of FRIKKIN messiah. There's paintings of him all draped up in an american flag and whatnot, I saw it on CNN. He's a presidential candidate, not Jesus.
I don't like either of them. Vote third party!

FallenMorgan:
I've been to three rallies, Obama's in St. Louis, Palins in Clearwater Florida, and McCain's in Milwaukee. Believe me, there is a huge difference from real life than what you see on CNN. McCains looked like a Rush Limbaugh taping, Obama's was huge, but primarily respectful, most people I saw and spoke to were there to listen. The party faithful are always in front, thats how it is at every rally. Palin's on the other hand looked and sounded more like a casting call for deliverance. I spoke to over one hundred people and 90% of them said the same thing. "She speaks to me." And yes, she did instigate. And yes, they followed like she was Jim Jones with grape kool-aid.

It's amazing how incensed some people get when a powerful citizen stands up to represent The People, that's all he is doing. As far as going to China goes...this is Our country. It needs to be improved by replacing the useless bitches who are in the White House now. This is America, where the people speak-out and Vote For Change. If you don't like it then put your head back under that rock.

McCain/Palin followers are like Magpies. They become too easily mesmerized with shiny objects, and easily repeat what they hear said over and over again. It is like a Klan rally minus the burning crosses and sheets with hoods every time Palin gets on stage.
This kind of politics was supposed to have stopped when Hitler committed suicide.
I say sue them. That's her right too.

Sen. McCain entire campaign strategy is to simply win by default.
The man NEVER discusses his own limp dick policies, but instead spend 27min hectoring his faithful crowds of 200 people that "Obama hates America!"
What are you gonna do to create jobs in Michigan, Sen. McCain?
"Obama wants us to surrender in Iraq!"
Okay....but how are you going to create jobs in Michigan?
"Obama is a socialist! And he hates our troops!"
And on and on and on it goes for Sen. McCain.
The important question is: was John McCain always a uneducated asshole with absolutely no comphrehension of military strategy and economic policy or is he simply pretending to be this stupid merely to win the campaign?
Always stupid or merely pretending to be stupid?
That's the question voters will have to decide in November.
Last point: If they took away hate speech from John McCain.....then what the hell would he have left to talk about? Hate is all he has!
His basic slogan is, "Don't vote for me because my policies make sense, obviously they don't....but vote for me because Obama is so horrible as a human being!"

It goes one way. Obama clearly answers every question put to him. McCains policies are still shrouded in mystery because he refuses to speak about them. Apparently he "knows" how to catch Osama bin Lade, but again there were absolutely no details to support that wild claim. McCain refuses to even allow his medical records to be examined! Even Palin (Palin!) refuses to release her medical records! Palin! How odd.
Just like Bush ruled with absolute power in absolute secrecy so to does Johnny Mac follow in his beloved leaders footsteps with absolute secrecy.
If you believe in open, honest and transparent democracy: vote Obama/Biden.

he was uneducated. He was in the bottom FIVE of his almost 900 graduating classmates.! He crashed three perfectly good planes too.not 1, or 2, but three...if military and honor and such runs in his family, shouldn't he have been like number 1 in his graduating class. That pretty much means if his name wasn't on the airport he flew in on later, than he woudn't have graduated at all, much less in the bottom 5, coming form such prestige and all.

Look, anyone ever think that she brought on the law suit so that it would get press coverage? So that she could try and get more mainstream media, and FOX (behold! FOX!) to report on the real volatility of the hate speech and death threats that's happening at these rallies?
I don't think she's hoping to get money out of this. She said it herself - she will drop the suit as soon as McCain and Palin state publicly that they do not condone death threats or hate speech at their rallies, and then STICK TO THAT by removing those who shout "kill him" from the crowd.
Good for her. Seems like she's trying to make a difference any way she can.

Who should be suing is the RNC. These people don't have a candidate in the election!
After the political "conventions" McCain said , that from here on out, it wasn't going to be about the issues. It was going to be all negative campaigning against Obama's character.
The RNC should sue, because McCain isn't even constructing a transition staff. He's already conceded. The primary process should start all over again, to find a candidate that will run for the office.
The same thing happened with Hillary. She lost the Iowa primaries and immediately turned into a Republican, and started telling us all about what was wrong with Obama; not about what she was going to do if elected. In retrospect, she came in pretty close in some primaries, that she may well have WON if she had just came to work as Hillary Clinton, Democrat.

The racial language John McCain has used and the disgusting statements he's allowed his supporters to make are indeed despicable. He should be skewered for them politically, and he really needs to admonish his supporters for saying such things, and publicly announce that he regrets making such associations himself. The statements terrify me as much as they terrify her.
However, suing him isn't the right path to take. Hasn't this woman heard of free speech?

How YOUR candidate NOT correcting the filthy followers screaming terrorist is not an act of bigotry. How the MULTIPLE videos of McCant and Palin supporters LITERALLY spew hatred because of the color of someones skin.
Or how about the fact that Palin belongs to and supports a church that actually trys to convert any who do not follow their own faith.
