The State of Political Discourse

Politics, like religion, is a subject you cannot openly discuss with just anyone. Why does it have to be that way? Why can we not have thoughtful political discourse with one another without trying to convert or attack personally?

    • I apologize for my last response to a post of yours. I may have been guilty of just the things you describe. Telling you to Google stuff, but that's the way I learn myself.

I love to discuss religion and politics. They are my favorite subjects.

I've engaged my red state inlaws and it is a learning experience for both.

      I think we're turning purple!

    • People have been so brain washed for political power
that certain people can't have a real discussion. When you have been lied too for so long over and over again
it becomes the truth. When you only let your thought process see or hear one side of the political spectrum
anything else seems so absurd. I do believe when this election is over the fairness doctrine has to be reinstated or we will remain polarized for a lot longer.
Both sides need too be heard in the same fair light, then maybe people can figure it out for themselves.
