    • Well, I've been sitting here longer than an hour, getting more upset by the minute at the comments. Regardless of your sexual persuasion, it has no bearing on who we are as human beings. Live life to the fullest, AND love whomever we choose.

    • I have been staring at my computer screen for the last hour trying to craft a response that is meaningful to this conversation. I think simple is the best way to go because I am enraged by some of the comments.

Soleil10 as a straight woman I am repulsed by your ignorance. I pray that you don't have children (a true special right, btw) because the last thing this planet needs is another idiot spouting the garbage you are. I pray that my faith in humanity is well founded so that I can rest assured that people aren't stupid enough to listen to you. I pray for a world where people don't use hate and fear as weapons in order to feel validated. And most importantly, I pray for your very sad soul.

    • People are people whether they are straight or gay. Sexual preference doesn't matter. A cheat is a cheat. I am gay and have never cheated on my partner and we have been together for 30 years. Why shouldn't we be allowed to marry if we so choose?

    • Come on you know what I mean.

Cheating is wrong for everyone. Even before people get married cheating take place.

Are you saying that gays have not been cheating on their partners up to now because there is no gay marriage ?

      WOW

I don't care what any one does in their marriage. It has no impact on me. I care about my partner and myself and our relationship. We have been together through thick and thin, good times and bad times and we will be together until one of us dies. I don't care if our relationship makes you sick or if we send shivers up and down your spine. I don't care what any religion feels about our love for each other. For over 30 years, she's been my sou lmate. You can call me a pervert, a sicko, immoral or a queer but I am who I am and will not change.

    • How can you say gays cheat on their spouses more than straight people. If gays can't legally marry, than how can they cheat on their mates. The judges do interpret the laws but they must keep discrimination out and treat all citizens as equals.

    • soleil10, Democracy is a joke if prop8 passes? The judges are to protect the rights of all citizens not just straight people.Straight people have made marriage a sham with their cheating and the high divorce rate. I have no use for ignorant people like you.

Gays cheat even more. Are you kidding ?

Judges are hear to interprate the law, not to subvert it

I agree that for the last 40 years especially since the 60s,
The free promiscuous sex revolution has damaged marriage.

The people on the side of NO on 8 are very much part of that failed revolution.

Now they are going for the bringing marriage down further

They are the same people who introduced no fault divorce, help 40 milliions divorces and broke the heart of 42 millions children.

Ultimately every one is responsible for their own conduct and behavior.

Same sex relationship are ignorant and will hurt you in the long run.

    • Why are you so adamant about this issue Soleil? I've seen your other comments and postings. Why does it bother you so much that Queer people want to be seen the same way as everyone else?

Seriously, when you spend as much time as you have trying to create hate and intolerance I really begin to wonder if you're gay yourself and too afraid to look at your own shame.

P.S. I love that you refer to marriage between a man and a woman as a "special right." If that's what the ignorant people of this state believe that marriage is than I can see why it didn't hold up in the Supreme Court. Do you realize how ridiculous you sound?

    • Soleil10 herself has been comdemning homosexuals for getting divorced, as if that's a reason to keep them from getting married let alone as if straights don't do it either.

I did not condemned homosexuals for divorcing.

I just want to make it clear that the statistics for gay divorce are huge especially lesbians

All this information is available on gaygle who support NO on 8

    • PoisonTheMonkey,
You have made a solid theological point here. If one takes the Bible literally--and if one's going to take it literally, one should take every word literally--divorce and remarriage are absolutely forbidden. Every time that a divorced and remarried person has sex with his new spouse, he is committing adultery--no exceptions, no special circumstances--it's forbidden. So, if one is going to condemn homsexuality, one should equally condemn divorce and remarriage. Hmmm, just where is the constitutional amendment to ban that one?

    • I'm sorry but how dare YOU talk about rights and the rights of the people?

What right do you have to mandate the private relationships of others, then to turn around and whine because others realize that's unConstitutional?

I hope if Prop Hate gets passed, people like you have your marriages deemed illegitimate because its your second marriage or you aren't having enough kids or something ridiculous.

    • PoisonTheMonkey:

I do not mandate the relationship of other people. I have more interesting thing to do.

Prop 8 is a reaction to gay activits mandating the relationship of others by redefining marriage.

      You go it upside down.

Thank you for wishing me well with my family.

    • Californians already voted

4 activists judges overturned the right of the people

Democracy is a joke in California

Churches are being sued, yes they are

If one judge can overturn the vote of people, everything is possible. You do not foul me

You already have the right to marry. You do not have the right to redefine marriage for 98% of the population

Gay marriage is not a civil right. It is a special right.

Comparing your campaign to civil right of African Americans is an insult to their suffering.

I'm sorry you feel that way. Perhaps you believe that "real love" can only be found through more "traditional" routes, like, oh, The Bachelor. Or Flavor of Love. I mean, it was modeled so well for us by people like John McCain (oh wait, nope... divorced his wife when she got sick and married a younger, wealthier woman), or Britney Spears! Yeah, she did a great job.

The divorce rate in this country is somewhere between 40% and 50%, depending on where you get your information. Clearly a significant number of heterosexual couples are failing at marriage - so why not let gays and lesbians give it a shot? I mean come on, we've done so many positive things in this country and we're known for gentrifying neighborhoods when we move in en masse - give us a shot at marriage and see what we can do! You'll thank us later.

      Love you Soleil!

Every one wants to be accepted, appreciated and loved.

People have been tolerant of same sex relationship. They are rejecting the fact that marriage is being redefined by some lawyer in black robes or gay activits.

Gay activits went to far in their arrogance and delusions

    • Bravo guys - thank you for helping to get the word out and tell the truth about this awful proposition. The rights of a few should never be decided by the majority.
