The original evidence to support the case was presented to the attorney general behind closed doors at a high court hearing - the release of the evidence was suppressed following gagging orders demanded by David Miliband, the foreign secretary, and the US authorities.
Hopefully justice will be done and the attorney general won't be silenced by the likes of Milliband and the US authorities who probably will do everything they can to keep this case under wraps. This will be the beginning of a long drawn out court case I imagine...

Wow, i'm glad this is finally coming under investigation. i really hope something comes out of this to highlight the abuses that are taking place at the hands of intelligence services. Any government who thinks using torture is a good way to get info out of someone is stuck in the middle ages.

I believe we need to shut down Guantanamo Bay now. We also need to make some sort of rules for the imprisonment of terriost threats. As of right now anyone can be taken their and held with no rights, and pretty much tourtured, and no one from the government has to answer for it. Why do we wonder how the extremist can get so much support when theirs picture like Abu Graib running around. I'm just glad those got out so we can see what is happing. Its up to us to make the govenment accountable.

Regarding U.S. Authorities and abuse. Our Supreme Court suggested a shut down of Guantanamo Bay. And Obama says he'll shut it down and transfer prisoners out.
