Ever left an important memory stick somewhere? Someone in the UK government did. A memory stick containing passwords for the Government Gateway website was found in a pub car park in London. The site allows people to register for more than 100 public services and has been shut down. An investigation has been ordered into how the stick was lost, and the employee responsible has been punished.

    • How?! How was someone so careless? Why were they in a pub car park with such important information? I guess everyone's just careless from time to time.

    • The CIA when computers first become an integral part of their offices used Superglue to stop USB ports from being accessed. Now 10 years on this fool working for a government institution in the UK loose a memory stick? What gets me is under MI5 and other security regulations youre not allowed to use USB memory sticks for this very reason. So this goverment department must be completely relaxed about what they have on file to firstly allow the use of a USB memory stick. The information to hand can't be very important right?
