Independent journalist Allan Nairn and American Conservative correspondent Kelley Beaucar Vlahos discuss a little-addressed facet of the 2008 campaign: many of the top advisers to leading presidential candidates are ex-U.S. officials involved in atrocities around the world.

    • It is the duty of every citizen according to his best capacities to give validity to his convictions in political affairs - Albert Einstein

I agree, Kucinich is one hell of a man... The last democrat that doesn't insult my intelligence ;)

Nader, Kucinich & McKinney : The Last Americans ?
      http://members.nowpublic.com/world/nader-kucinich-mckinney-last-americans

He's obviously too good for his own sake or America's for that matter ;)

But he can't rewrite history or win against the military industrial complex alone... who can ?

Wanna bet he will be nowhere to be seen in Obama's administration ?

I sure wish I'm wrong on that for one can't under evaluate the power & value of a single man indeed .

He who joyfully marches to music in rank and file has already earned my contempt. He has been given a large brain by mistake, for him the spinal cord would fully suffice. This disgrace to civilization should be done away with at once. Heroism at command, senseless brutality, deplorable love-of-country stance, how violently I hate all this, how despicable an ignorable war is; I would rather be torn to shreds than be a part of so base an action! It is my conviction that killing under the cloak of war is nothing but an act of murder." - Albert Einstein

    • THE DEMOCRAT'S KILLING FLOOR

"If liberty means anything at all, it means the right to tell people what they do not want to hear." - George Orwell

      SUCH AS...

If the Nuremberg laws were applied, then every post-war American president would have been hanged." - Noam Chomsky

      OR...

"It makes no difference who you vote for - the two parties are really one party representing four percent of the people" - Gore Vidal

Let alone the fact that most of the voting will be done on Diebold & friends machines, exposing American democracy as the sinister & cynical farce it has become under the proto-fascism Bush/Cheney junta.

PROUD OF WHAT ONE IGNORES ?
      http://members.nowpublic.com/world/proud-what-one-ignores

"We have become a monster in the eyes of the whole world – a nation of bullies and bastards who would rather kill than live peacefully. We are not just whores for power and oil, but killer whores with hate and fear in our hearts. We are human scum, and that is how history will judge us… No redeeming social value. Just whores. Get out of our way, or we’ll kill you." – Hunter S. Thompson

Of the two I would have to go with dems. But there is a large case to be made that the only choice that we have is the republicrats or democans, whichever you prefer. Another notable issue most of our public servants really don't fit the description of the "average American. For example as to under represented groups: people of color, homosexuals(out of the closet), atheist, poor, blue collar workers, health professionals, enviromentalist. As to the over represented groups: attorneys, wealthy, 2nd and 3rd generation nepotism (entitled), jingoist, hypocrits, party hacks, acommodators.
Until at least a few these roles are reversed we can't call ourselves a government by the people.

    • "McCain will make Cheney look like Gandhi" - Pat Buchanan

While the civilian economy is shrinking, the military sector is expanding. The Republicans, are pledged to an even bigger U.S. military. It's good for business, if your part of the growing group of Americans whose livelihoods, and claim to some sort of social status, depend on the continuation of our foreign policy of perpetual war and civilian abuse.
