Dems don't blow it! Use these Dale Carnegie tips when necessary
Fundamental Techniques in Handling People
Don't criticize, condemn or complain.
Give honest and sincere appreciation.
Arouse in the other person an eager want."And to those Americans whose support I have yet to earn - I may not have won your vote, but I hear your voices, I need your help, and I will be your President too."

Hey Disgusted_again, let's be honest about some things here. You say "I wonder if the person's who were responsible for sending near 4,000 soldiers to their death and countless others to a life of physical damage are feeling a "moral responsibility". To think that the inverse is possible is to believe there can be a world without war. America has been by far the most moral superpower in the history of the world. Are there isolated incidents? Sure, but what we do has been the greatest earthly force for good in the history of this world. When you figure out how to fight a war against a determined enemy without suffering casualties or injury, please let us know.
Next, you say "I wonder if the persons who receive money from insurance companies and lobbyists, for keeping insurance companies unregulated, feel morally incorrect when people can't pay for medication or treatment or a surgery they need. Soldiers coming home to insufficient medical and psy. treatment. Morally wrong?" You seem to imply that this is a Republican issue, rather than an issue on both sides of this thing. Morally wrong? You betcha. On BOTH sides.
Where I was coming from, DA, was that we just placed a man in office who is of the mindset of the Pelosi/Reid congress in many ways. They believe in freedom of speech, unless it is conservative speech. They believe in protecting life, so long as it is a rapist/murderer, citing it is cruel punishment to execute them. Yet killing a fully born live baby resulting from a botched abortion in the last part of the third trimester is not cruel, it is a "choice". They believe in wealth, unless it is yours, then they want to take it and give it to the bum on welfare. They believe in freedom, unless your freedom encroaches on their ambition. They say they support the second amendment, except when law abiding citizens own guns - only thugs should have them. They will let you work your whole life, paying taxes into a broken system of Social Security, struggling to pay off your debts so you finally own your home, only to find they will take your land to build a new supermarket at pennies on the dollar. But that's "progress", they say. These are but a few examples of why I say the new administration is going to be morally bankrupt. Liberals are without solid morals. They change with the wind.

Mark701, we agree on more than you realize. I am not a fan of the Bush Administration on much, other than the fact that they did indeed keep us safe the last 8 years. We agree on the abominable 700 billion bailout. i don't mind having a challenge in our image overseas as long as we are doing the right thing. If your criteria for foreign policy is how well people like us, then I can confidently, yet respectfully, tell you you are wrong. However, change for change's sake is just irresponsible.
Liberalism, however, is a mental disorder because 1. you have to have no absolute principles by which you govern your decisions and 2. because it is the non-thinking man's position. It takes no work to be a liberal - any institution that does not take a political stance will be by default liberal. Being catholic has nothing to do with it - I'm not, by the way.

Kcsteve, it's not as blank a check as was handed to the Republican Party in 2002. As far as change is concerned, what are you afraid of? We are already involved in two wars, our national debt is 15 TRILLION dollars (10 Trillion of which was rung up by the Bush Administration) our economy is a catastrophe, our overseas image is in the gutter, domestic policy is nonexistant, foreign policy a joke and Paulsen just handed 700 billion to a bunch of greedy incompetents. How much worse can it get? Please don't say "socialism" because our economy has be socialistic for decades. And really, liberalism is a mental disorder? Only if your catholic.

I voted McCain. I am disappointed in a way that I cannot express in words right now. I do not believe for a second that the America who voted for Obama knows what is about to come to our country. Call it paranoid if you like, "disgusted_again", but with the blank check your party has been handed, I shudder to think about the moral bankrupcy, reduced national security and economic woes that are about to come about as a result of the implementation of this "change". I think you will, eventually, as well. You will not recognize Obamanation in 4 years. Liberalism, after all, is indeed a mental disorder.
You could debate or reason with me if you like. Because you disagree with me does not make me undebatable or unreasonable. If you have a fact, idea, policy or cohesive thought, lets debate. Otherwise, shiny speeches do not a new nation make.

The "moral bankruptcy" charge again. I wonder if the person's who were responsible for sending near 4,000 soldiers to their death and countless others to a life of physical damage are feeling a "moral responsibility".
I wonder if the persons who receive money from insurance companies and lobbyists, for keeping insurance companies unregulated, feel morally incorrect when people can't pay for medication or treatment or a surgery they need. Soldiers coming home to insufficient medical and psy. treatment. Morally wrong?Just another delusion from a set of people who want all power for themselves, (the few) and the wannabes- Thinking they get something from the the wealthy. Wake up already, smell the coffee! Say, you look rather young, did you serve in Iraq or Afghanistan?

First, I am a strong Obama supporter. So to all the posters, cut the gentleman some slack. He hasn't insulted Obama and I imagine many of us would be feeling about the same if Obama had lost. It was an intense campaign and there are a lot of dissapointed people out there. In time they'll get over it and move on. Peace.

This was not interesting but it is educational. Over the past year, I have learned how crazy and delusional and paranoid these so called republicans are. I believe they need serious mental health treatment. I listened to less than 5 seconds of this and I will listen to less in the coming years. One cannot debate or reason with these individuals. It is scarry, they actually walk among us!.

Was this interesting?
Well, I am glad that spooly is hopeful for the future though his candidate lost. But, I was not moved by this pod for whatever reason, though, I do understand the need to vent. I have felt it for the last 8 years. Thanks for posting just the same. All sides have a voice here. - 3 years ago

The content of your character shows through as did Mr Obama's, They fought the fight, there was always going to be a winner and a loser.
I wish Mr McCain well.
I am an Obama supporter and I think the polls show that overwhelmingly American wanted change.
Mr Luther King's dream has finally come true for America, we should all now stand together for hope and freedom.
Good luck, I wish you well. - 3 years ago
