The story of what happens to everyday Americans when corporations go to war.
Acclaimed director Robert Greenwald (Wal-Mart: The High Cost of Low Price, Outfoxed) takes you inside the lives of soldiers, truck drivers, widows and children who have been changed forever as a result of profiteering in the reconstruction of Iraq. Iraq for Sale uncovers the connections between private corporations making a killing in Iraq (Blackwater, Halliburton/KBR, CACI and Titan) and the decision makers who allow them to do so.

Not that they don't do the same - but the Russians and Chinese must be laughing themselves hoarse at our blatant international hypocrisy - while we condemn others for precisely the same practices..
Of all human institutions which require the highest of educational standards, for subordinates, only government can persist for years in implementing then allowing mindlessly atrocious behaviour to persist, despite solemn public commitments that such implementation never would be allowed, nor such atrocities ever tolerated.
Bright people, doing egregiously stupid things - a sign of our times. And a lesson to those who thought that a Technocracy would be the salvation of us all.

This has striking similarities with what is going on in Pakistan where their private (Taliban) armies are operating. Does the government support them as the US government support Blackwater to the tune of billions of dollars.
Corruption is rife.

What an eye opener. No army should be privatized for the reasons obviously stated. I think the average American is struggling so hard to keep up with their own lives, they filter stuff like this out because you feel so helpless. And with what is already happening, corrupt Governors, bailouts, lay offs....I feel myself that I am helpless to do anything and sooo heartbroken that this once great country is now raped and pillaged by those with the power to do so.

OK I have been trying to get my "normal" post out for 2hrs!!!! I write for a long time, and come back, then when I invite friends, or maybe not, I will hit submit, and POOOOFFFFFFF it's all gone to the sign in page. It comes up (the sign in page) at totally, totally indiscriminate times. Someone got any clues as to figuring this out?
AND BY THE WAY
Get this DVD Iraq for Sale I'd explain much more but I'm afraid it'll disappear too

I like what the lady said at the end, they didn't want to let them build a firing range in their backyard and the response was "you're un-patriotic", the neocon response to everything. brilliant!

holy crap the creator and owner of black water is against the clean air policys? dose that spell leadership to any one?
sounds like rich pychopath to me.
i beleive there was an insider objective in the middle east cause u think with this kind of power we could have got more done.
we need more groupes like this but fighting in places that need protection from genocide.
this means we will need less racist people to join and less biassed owners to know where to deploy them. - 3 years ago

This has been out for a while, but because it was not a commercially supported/promoted film, many have not seen it. We need to inform ourselves, share with friends, our "news" will not reveal these things.
It is up to the people to fix this democracy, the politicians can not do it alone.
Demand publicly funded elections, no cost tv coverage for presenting political platforms, and single payer health care, take the legs out from under the corporate elite, and see if we do not develop better leadership.

Our use of public forum is beginning to reveal that for the last few years, our country's proud warriors have only been used to bridge the gap between a power play and some invisioned control beyond any nationalism. The sad thing is that we waste lives in order to believe that controling wealth makes a good life!

Not very current.
I was angry about this stuff before the surge and all of it's so called "success".
This is years old, now we're at the point where we know the war will end, but we have to wait around for the bureaucracy... as more die and we go deeper into debt.

It is a real danger to have private Armies that have not gone through the same philosophical and educational weight as the US Army to operate without military supervision. I think the initial philosophy was that an Army forces were build with the goal to defend our Country and Civilians, not to attack others.
