After several big name players were ruled out of the friendly against long-time nemesis Germany, Fabio Capello's England team managed to scrape a 2-1 win thanks to a late headed winner from captain John Terry.

Rio Ferdinand, Wayne Rooney, Steven Gerrard, Frank Lampard and Theo Walcott were all watching on from the sidelines because of injuries, but that didn't seem to phase Capello who called up some of England's future talent, namely Gabriel Agbonlahor, Michael Carrick and Matthew Upson.

"England looked confident, with a nice balance to the side due to the presence of Wright-Philips and Downing on the flanks and with real pace up front in the shape of Defoe and Agbonlahor."

Wonder if Capello will hand back the missing players their places when they recover or if they'll have to work their way back into the team.
