The case, involving six Algerians detained in Bosnia in 2001, was an important test of the Bush administration’s detention policies, which critics have long argued swept up innocent men and low-level foot soldiers along with high-level and hardened terrorists.
The hearings for the Algerian men, in which all evidence was heard in proceedings closed to the public, were the first in which the Justice Department presented its full justification for holding specific detainees since the Supreme Court ruled in June that the prisoners have a constitutional right to contest their imprisonment in habeas corpus suits.
Ruling from the bench, Judge Richard J. Leon of Federal District Court in Washington said that the information gathered on the men had been sufficient to hold them for intelligence purposes, but was not strong enough in court.

Yesterday we had public debate in Slovenia (Europe). Topic was Illegal procedures in war on terror. Guests were one proffessor at our university, AI London, Murat Kurnaz (ex-detainee in Guantanamo) and wife of ONE MAN RELEASED TODAY! Great news.
Anyway USA has to close Guantamo as soon as possible and end this f..... war on terror before it's too late. I am sure Obama is capable to do it. I hope USA will also pay back to everyone turtured and mistreated in Guantamo. Best from Bush's pension and you can sell his ranch.
Anyway Murat Kurnaz wrote a book: 5 years of my life: Report from Guantamo. It's great written and you should really read it.
Sometimes i cant believe UN lets USA do whatever they want. It just shows how currupted organisation it is. Sametime it's sad Europe didnt take more actions to prevent this horrible abuse of human rights.

Good, hope they didn't turn the previously innocent into suicide bombers. I know I'd be pretty pissed if I was illegally detained, tortured, then set free...
