According to tonight's update of the MN Secretary of State's "recount" webpage, Coleman has so far lost a total of 212 votes and Franken has lost 126 during the counting. The net gain is 86 votes for Franken out of the original 215 vote advantage certified by the state for Coleman before counting began yesterday."
We need a comedian in Washington. The last eight years have certainly been a joke.

Sure, get the seat by any means necessary. Look at the post above to see the type of ballot Franken is questioning.

Franken rocks! He does his research, talks to the smartest people. He and the people he supports are working in the best interest of the people of the US. They want the middle class back, they want the corruption rooted out, and they want truth in media.
Democracy, prosperity, equity...bring it on!

I think there is a pretty good chance that if the Dems reach 60, you can count on Lieberman changing sides. But I still like Franken. Go Al!

Like Jan, I agree that Franken is no Wellstone.
Then again. Who is? His kind don't come along nearly enough in politics.
Coleman was the end product of the Bush butt-kisser brigade that dominated two devastating terms. Pawlenty and Bachmann, too. They've lost whatever stature they thought they had and their days are numbered as leaders.
My money is on Franken to win and as someone who will work closely with the Obama administration.
Maybe, if we're all real lucky, there will be new "Wellstones" as a result of the turning tide in DC.
Leaders like Senator Amy Klobuchar give me hope. - 3 years ago

I don't think the fact that he is not in the Senate yet is a reason to ignore a question asked of him as a candidate in a farming state. I'm not in the Senate either, but if I were a candidate and someone asked me my stance on an issue I would at least tell them what it was without asking for a payment first. But yes, if he gets in I will ask the question again.
Paul Wellstone stood up to Monsanto. But now he's gone. We need more like him in the Senate. He was the real deal.

Franken is a hack. He is just riding Obama's coattails. He has no qualifications to be a legislature.
And he won't win. Neither will Jim Martin in Georgia. No 60 seats for the Dems.

Though I was first in line to oust the Republicans this time around, I am not sure how I feel about the Democrats getting their 60. It could be great for the country, or it could be disastrous. I keep going back to that age old addage, Absolute power corrupts absolutely.
If things go good, they will go real good. If they go bad, they will go real bad. I feel if they get the 60, our jobs as the real stewards of this country just became both harder and more important... either way, keep them in line!

America needs Franken in the Senate to make it the magic 60 votes which will will insure that Obama can pass his agenda including real health care reform, a program for leaving Iraq ASAP, the beginning of educational reforms, a real live effort toward a caring and functional enviromental program, the outing of all of Bush's unconstitutional activities, the closing of gitmo, and the economic reforms in terms of workable regulations to assist in the economic recovery. It is lot, but Barack with our help can do these things and more with 60 Senatorial votes..

Hopefully, if he gets it he will give us some clue about what he thinks of Monsanto. I wrote him a nice letter asking him his stance on Monsanto, their GM seeds, their patent and how they make farmers buy seed every year while raising the price of their seeds, and the poverty and hunger that causes... I got no response, only a mail to donate money. Isn't that just like every other politician? I don't recall Paul Wellstone doing that.

It makes sense, in an ironic way that a comedian would be elected to the legislature. Most people trust the news on the comedy network more then the MSM anyway.
