It's not quantity, it's quality/content. children have a short attention span especially to repetitive crap. give them a good environment to learn in and engaging content and you will be amassed at the difference it makes.

The boards of education are taking away a lot of school breaks and holiday weeks, its because the huge majority students aren't reaching the testing criteria, taking away breaks and replacing with more school days will not help, who wants to go school on Saturdays? I, am already fed up with the uneeded information, and want to get the general information, tests aren't what they used to be...

Who the hell wants to go to school on a Saturday? We shouldn't downplay the importance of relaxation and fun time for kids and teenagers (and hell, adults too!)

The only problem that I have with this is that it's designed to "improve students' results". That is not and should not be the primary goal of education.

The only time I had to go into school on a Saturday was when I had Saturday morning detention.
I think there's something in a kid' brain that doesn't want to be at school on a Saturday, I would've thought that after-school classes might bring better results.
