Wow! We've all heard of societies not wanting their baby girls but never the other way around. I wonder what sort of plans they have for procreation though

So they're basically trying to eliminate a warrior class by removing a generation of possible participants. Interesting and very drastic. Sad that the villages can't work together and adapt the warrior class to a new niche.

It sounds like, if they want peace, their society/ culture needs a patient makeover (that only they can bring about).
It is their culture in which violence is the norm, not men.
I mean, really - using violence / killing babies to force some sort of "peace" down the line...? As if women have never committed violence before, or are incapable of leading their people to war.

I understand their line of thinking. I don't agree with it. Telling people what kind of baby they can have is wrong on many levels and killing them because they are not what you want them to be, is even worse. China did it with females.

Because this is being done by the females in two villages this is no longer murder? It's murder. I care not what their reasoning is. Murder is not OK if you have a good reason. Are we pardoning all of our own wacco's for trying & sometimes succeeding in blowing up abortion clinics? There is such a thing as bending over too far to understand. Murder is too far.

Yeah, it might result in less violence... it also might lead to the extinction of both their tribes.. How in the world are they going to reproduce with no boys?

What do they plan on doing in 20 to 30 years when all the adult males are too old. There will only be women and no men. The result will be no new children. It's like a whole village commiting a very slow suicide.

Why do you have to put the blame on us , when all the problems that we have in this planet we owe to women, remember the old saying "behind every man there is a good b@#$%." hahahahahahaha

Maybe this is enough to break the cycle of violence and life that they can learn peace from the women and begin anew.

That crazy man! So sad same of those boys could have been grant leader in tribes.

Wow, it is hard to believe that this is what they feel is their only option to curb the violence.

That being said, we have to be really careful to not judge and hold these tribes up to what we dub as right and wrong in our society.

I cannot even begin to assume that I would know what life is like for them in the jungle of PNG and though I find this whole situation tragic, I find it quite difficult to judge these women not knowing anything about their situation.

It's a tragic situation and hopefully a resolution can be found soon before they revert back to infanticide.

It's the same idea that if women were in power, there would be less violence and wars. Wrong! This can already be demonstrated by these women killing all sons and males in their villages.

Does the majority of the people living in these villages primarily believe that violence begins with males? Do these tribes feel that this is the best or only way to protect their lifestyles or future of existence? I'd like to ask what their logic or reasoning is because for some reason it seems justifiable?
