"Parents need every tool they can find to convince their teens not to drink alcohol, particularly during the holiday season," says Shirley Malcom, head of the Education & Human Resources Directorate at AAAS. "Science is such a tool, and it is providing new insights on alcohol's effects on the maturing brain."

A lot of teens will probably drink anyway, but I've ALWAYS thought they should use more science and REAL INFORMATION to make teenagers understand the dangers of drugs and alcohol. I'm sick of all the weird commericals comparing weed to leeches and whatnot. Why can't anti-drug and alcohol commercials be more realistic?

AD'S ONLY SAY WHAT THE PUBLIC WANTS TO HEAR. """PUBLICALLY CORRECT""" KIDS ARE GOING TO DRINK,,,,"PERIOD""". WE AS PARENTS NEED TO CONFIDE IN OUR KIDS AS TO WHAT IS ""ENOUGH"" AND TO SAY ""i HAD ENOUGH"". NOT TO DRIVE, NOT TO GET IN TRTOUBLE, NOT TO BLAME THEIR IGNORENCE ON DRINKING THE NIGHT BEFORE.TELL YOUR KIDS THAT DRINKING CAN BE O.K. IF YOU CAN CONTROL YOUR INTAKE, NOT BE STUPID, OR GET OUT OF CONTROL. REMEMBER WE HAVE ALL BEEN THERE, BE HAPPY, NOT STUPID. SET UP DRIVERS BEFOREHAND, AND ENJOY THE EVENING WITHOUT BEING WASTED.

The best way I can think of to keep kids from abusing alcohol is to give them a bag of Red-Bud & a Tommy Chong BONG!!!
