According to Sky News, the UK government are discussing a rescue package for car manufacture, Jaguar.
Sky says that the Prime Minister and Business Secretary, Peter Mandelson is expected to be in favour of going ahead with a substantial scheme, Chancellor Alistair Darling isn't sure that it warrents the engagement of government cash at this stage.
Sky News also learns that the bail-out would be in a loan agreement, meaning that the taxpayer will foot the bill.

It seams to me that is anyone is considering a bailout package for Jaguar it should be the Indian government considering recent events.

I don't think the UK is in any postion to be lending any money to anyone at all. According to citigroup, as a nation we owe 400% of our GDP - the highest of any developed country.
For every pound we have, we're four in debt, and yet here we are looking to take out more loans to help save an industry on its knees.
