Former senior defence official Theoneste Bagosora has been convicted of instigating Rwanda's 1994 genocide and sentenced to life in prison. It is the first time the Rwanda tribunal has convicted anyone of organising the killings in which more than 800,000 people lives were taken.

    • I'm glad that he is in jail, but l doubt very seriously that he was the mastermind. One man could have never pulled this off by himself without permission from the Super Power leaders of this world.

Whoever did not try to stop him, gave him their consent.

    • This pod looks at the country's traditional system of justice and reconciliation known as the Gacaca courts. The courts are expected to deal with the hundreds of thousands of people accused of participating in the 1994 genocide and promote reconciliation between genocide perpetrators and survivors.
