The 'Plymouth Two' lose appeal and remain behind bars

In what has been a 'landmark case' overseen by a total of five judges, DJ Tom Costelloe and Plymouth's Dance Academy owner Manoucehr Bahmanzadeh have been told they are to stay behind bars after an appeal was rejected.

The Dance Academy was raided by a huge undercover police force after months of suspected heavy drug use and dealing within the club. Police claimed that both the owner and the DJ had allowed the 'rampant sale of ecstasy.'

Their appeal was based on evidence given by some of the undercover police involved in the raid, who reportedly didn't show their ID at the trial, which the defendants argued was an infringement on their human rights.

Surely this kind of stuff goes on in clubs all across England?

Mixmag seem to think so: "We'd say imprisoning a DJ for playing at a club where drugs are being sold was pretty unfair. "

    • Pfft - this sort of stuff is pathetic.

The worst part about this case is the numerous attempts by the promoter/club owners to curb the drug intake - including shopping his own mates that were selling inside the club and offering to pay for police to stand on the door.

Take a walk down union street on a friday night and see whether Dance Academy was causing more damage than all the drunks in the "legal" clubs
