I think the war in Afghanistan was a perfectly just war, and unlike Iraq, I think we have a genuine mission there.

The war on Afghanistan was planned months before 9/11 - it was planned for mid-October 2001 at the latest, and the infrastructure and logistics were in place before 9/11.

The real reason for this illegal war of aggression is that the Taliban had refused to allow pipelines to be built by Unocal across Afghanistan to bring oil and natural gas from the Caspian Sea Basin to Pakistan (Karachi, a huge port on the Arabian Sea/Indian Ocean) and India.

Hamid Karzai was a former consultant with Unocal. As soon as he was placed in power by the USA and forced "elections", he signed the contract for the pipelines - it was practically the first thing he did.

Our men have been killing and been killed there solely to allow for the pipeline to be built, and then to protect it, which means that our militaries would remain in Afghanistan for decades.

Geopolitics is mostly concerned about economic interest. Security pretexts, Spreading of religion and other countless ideologies are the favorite tools of policy makers to further their interests.

Israel was allowed to exist, in my opinion, by taking advantage of the Zionists and their wish for an independent purely-Jewish state. Sorry for not being clear. If they removed the population, there would only be a small number of fighters remaining and there would be nothing to stop Israel from rolling in and bulldozing everything and setting up new settlements.

Iran did no such thing, MoonLoon - suicide bombers were invented years after the Iran-Iraq war. Iran sent hundreds of thousands of young soldiers, many of them just boys, to the front. It was Iraq which attacked Iran, too, with the help of the US which provided Iraq with masses of sophisticated weapons. The US also helped Iran in that war, and made a lot of money selling weapons to both sides, thus prolonging a bloody war for years - without the US' interference, that war would have ceased years before it did, and a couple of million people would not have been killed. Iran won that war, ultimately, not Iraq.

You may be right. The Hezbollah today cried foul about the Arab world for not intervening in Gaza yet did not offer it's own militia to fight with Hamas.
