Pre-chewed pencils help students concentrate

Pre chewed pencils have gone on sale as an educational device.

"The pre-chewed surfaces make pupils reluctant to put the pencils in their mouths, encouraging them to focus on the challenges at hand. It seems more likely that many children would instead focus on their own disgust at having to hold something with someone else's teeth marks in it."

I used to chew my pen at school and it actually caused a gap between my upper and lower set of teeth, so perhaps they should be recommended by dentists too!

Wonder who actually chews them though before they go on sale?
