Israel 'accepts Gaza truce plan'

Image
WorldPeaceTV
PARIS (Reuters) – French President Nicolas Sarkozy said on Wednesday Israel and the Palestinian Authority had accepted a truce plan for Gaza announced by Egypt on Tuesday.

"The president is delighted by the acceptance by Israel and the Palestinian Authority of the Franco-Egyptian plan presented last night in Sharm el-Sheikh by (Egyptian) President (Hosni) Mubarak," said a statement from Sarkozy's office.

"The head of state calls for this plan to be implemented as quickly as possible for the suffering of the population to stop."

-------thats all folks for now--but,

Yesterday was a big turning point in Israels campaign against Gaza. It was tragic attack on the UN schools that left scores dead, many innocent children. Maybe Israel is looking in the mirror this morning and saying they've went about this all wrong..we should have learned from Lebanon.

    • After having my question ignored about how your stories could reach the front page with less than twenty views, and now datamined has been blocked for two weeks I can't believe anything that comes from your posts. This is Not a Personal attack against you.

I just believe that this site is biased and non-objectively choosing which submitters are best for their TV demographic. Therefore every story that is submitted is under question.

Any media that chooses to shape the news based on their monetary needs is a curse of the free press in a Capitalistic society. There needs to be a revolution against those who would sell what amounts to innocent lives to make the almighty advertising dollar. Flee from these prostitutes as from the plague. At least the plague would be a comparatively quick death compared to having your self-determinacy taken from you an opinion at a time in a "so called" free society.

It doesn't matter your politics or religion, if this site is dictating who can be heard and who can't then Free Speech is not allowed here. This is not America, move on..............

I should have known they were in trouble after seeing so many advertisements for the Zune.

    • America learned it behavior from Israel. Who has been bullying other country's (including America) and people for several centuries. With our government as scandalous as it is. You know Israel operates on it own government based self interests also. I would be interested to see if this truce is just propaganda so they can secretly plan another attack in the name of peace and "anti-terrorism"

    • Last night I had a dream I was ruler of the world.

When surveying the battlefield, there was such tragic carnage and soul-scarring disfigurement, I vowed to make all those responsible understand what it is like to be in the position of a TRUE victim for a change.

They next day, the leaders of the various regions all showed up and handed me the keys to their war machines.

I offered them peace, prosperity, and protection from one another in exchange for mandating a required comprehensive re-education of their sheep.

The leaders agreed, and all was good.

Upon waking up, my only conundrum is, how does a mythical tiger communicate with to re-educate sheep?

      Dear "highly advanced animals",

Get over yourselves, and your twisted perspective of existence according to ancient hearsay.

There's a new sheriff in town, and the world is about to get a lot different accordingly.

You will be given a chance at forgiveness and redemption, and in it the chance at a future free of past burdens, however, you must not be foolish enough to look backwards for justification or answers, because the only opportunity you have for continued existence is in the future.

God does not equal passe religion in the future, perhaps you should realign your behavior and rationalization accordingly before it's too late.

You'll never know when you are being tested, so I suggest you assume it to be constant. Do not fear, for those that fail to follow the agreement will be dealt with on your behalf.

Just remember, there is always a bigger bully, he will protect you as you protect others as human beings. If you chose to believe otherwise, you're on your own, but I highly suggest you limit your behavior as not to provoke the other "clean slate" theory.

Your minds are like Play-Doh, and some have been deviously twisted out of shape. Do the best you can to protect what is right if you were the other person, and God will protect you accordingly.

Yes, some people make much better human beings than others, but until there is a universal standard based in reason and complete honesty, there are going to be some experiences you'll have to adapt to dealing with.

Blame group behavior, then take steps to correct it.

It all comes back to you in ways you never expected, so make sure you aren't screwing your own destiny while listening to others who are listening to others who are listening to others who have no clue who they are or what they're doing.

And if you've got a videocamera, use it as a shield from tyranny. It's like a reflector and a time capsule, which, in the future, has the same power as whatever is coming at you at the moment.

What do you mean they started bombing again?

      Doh!

Everyone involved should be fired if you ask me.

When you step back and think about it though, millions of lifeforms die everyday, too bad we can't just get rid of the stupid, mean, completely selfish and inconsiderate ones.

      Maybe next year?

    • I wonder how long this pseudo truce will last? Probably about 5 seconds. The middle east has been a $h!thole( excuse my poor language) for the past 1,000 or so years (Crusades, Turks, Tribal fighting, religious conflicts, British Empire). So if you think peace is coming to the middle east this easily, then your delusional.

The fighting will only stop when BOTH sides have lost their tolerance for bloodshed.

Israel and the Palestinians are like two little kids who start fighting as soon as their parents turn away...

I see fighting breaking out within the next few months after the truce is signed.. if it is signed at all.

    • phillyphil:

@phillyphil... touché... OR maybe not even "if there was only peace", but even simply the ability for whoever poses the capacity to rise above their own prejudice, fear, etc.. to speak to the difficulties that are imposed in such a way that may leave any potential facility for understanding / peace / love ...always open (to be able to occur when/if it may come time).

I, myself, am continually challenged to discover and practice "mercy" in my life, and to not get sucked into fear and prejudice (and act in like kind ;^). Part of it means being able to withhold my personal judgements as I dutifully press forward with what I have taken on to be my truth (for now)...

I always try to remember, "how and what are my actions and words teaching my children, (or the most sensitive part of us that is always seeking affirmation of what we hold dearest in our own lives)..."

    • It's pretty sad that Israel had to blow up a school of children before they were ready to talk about a truce. I wonder how much blood it will take for a two-nation state to form?

I'm not sure that datamined is trying not to wish for Middle East peace by posting this. And neither is the fact that the video is from 2007 take anything away from it..

I think the point of it is that it shows that terrorists are capable of using schools and other public places to launch attacks.

    • Do you, ignorant defenders of terrorists, know, that "UN School" was not a "school" for at least several years, but the shelter and residence for hamas terrorists, Rockets were launched from that "UN school" just several days earlier and was launch pad for rocket attacks on peaceful cities of Israel for last several years?

    • This conflict has left me tired and stressed. I got to much depressing stuff to deal with in this reality we call America. LOL Only thing I have to say is that I pray some kind of peace comes out of this and that we see a decrease in violence in the world.

    • Why is this post even in TV!? This is a Lie! They have not signed anything! They submitted a Truce that Hamas nor Israel said it does not want to apply now!

Basically what they did is that they changed the Date of the previous Truce and put Franco-Egyptian in the top to get some fame on their side and "Submitted it" to be Signed, which obviously only happens until they want!

The worse part... Hamas does not want to Sign this YET!

dinner please....and since you look like a square ass tool ass toy... my statement translaed to a funny and slightly less rascist way of saying nigga please. We should really be worried about what some israeli asshole who thinks that cutting off water food power and medicine for months on end is a nice thing to do.
Plus the areas being target by missles (which rarely kill anyone) are the specific settlements taken from palestine by israel. They are specifically targetting the brainwashed pro war zionist settlers, which is much much much much more than can ever be said about israel, who love collective punishment, especially if they can take out women and children.

    • We shall not celebrate until extremists on both sides are removed, and the brutal occupation and suffering is over...I'm afraid this is only a temporary truce, just like the many others before it. The time has come for real change, there is an opportunity to make progress, the only thing missing here is leadership with balls not BS...I call on Mr. Obama to show us what he's got, the stage is set for him, the opportunity has presented it self, show us, demonstrate your leadership potential, CAN YOU!

    • Not so fast... so the French say Israel's president and the Palestinian Authority have accepted. But what about Hamas? Check out this statement from Osama Hamdan, a senior Hamas official:

"The [Hamas] movement is now discussing its stance to the Egyptian initiative, keeping in mind that there are, in principle, a number of reservations on this initiative.

"Israel has not accepted the French-Egyptian initiative yet. They said they are looking positively to this initiative, that does not mean they have accepted it.

"As for the Palestinian Authority, they could accept it but everyone knows that who is on the ground - and can decide 'yes or no' - is the resistance, that means Hamas and the resistance movement. So there is no use in them saying yes or no.

"It is Israel who started the war, not Hamas. When Israel decides to let humanitarian aid into Gaza, it is not a big deal. They have to do that. They are doing this because they are now realising the international anger over the UN school bombing".

      He does have a point...

it does not seem to be about hamas accepting or not. in this case, it seems that Israel is the aggressor, if they take to peace, maybe those on the ground would follow suit. the ball is in Israel's court now.

I really like Sarkozy, he becoming a great leader in the international scene. He led the peace talks between Georgia and Russia and now he led the talks along with Mubarak of Egypt to settle the conflict in Gaza.

All the same, I'm very impressed by Mr. Sarkozy's diplomatic skills! Now let's see how long it lasts, and if both sides are going to uphold the peace.

Israel and the Palestinians are like two little kids who start fighting everytime their parents turn their backs on them...
