Bernanke: Obama's Stimulus Plan Would Lift Economy

LONDON — Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke said Tuesday the stimulus package being crafted by President-elect Barack Obama and Congress could provide a "significant boost" to the sinking economy. But he warned that such a recovery won't last unless other steps are taken to stabilize the shaky financial system.

    • don't people see past the lie yet? The more "money" we get from these guys the more debt we get in...money cannot come into existence without debt being attached...and guess what? since we gotta pay back the money they give us with "interest"...they will in turn "create" more money to pay them back with,which then of course inflates our currency...so in the end we are always screwed!There is no end to this perpetual debt...nothing can lift the economy nothing guys....NOTHING!They know that and its very clear once you do some simple homework on the creation of the "federal reserve note"...you will be amazed just how far the rabbit hole goes....basically what I am saying is we need to abolish the CENTRAL BANK masquerading itself as THE FEDERAL RESERVE!

    • Lift the economy for who? What a ringing endorsement considering the bang up job Bernanke has done so far. Now I know I'm against Obama's stimulus plans.

    • I don't know if I trust him. Bernake, that is. His vision and forethought are not the sharpest in my book. He gave us no warning that this meltdown was coming.
