Hillary Clinton today endorsed the use of "smart power" to reassert global US influence during an appearance before the US Senate foreign relations committee, which is considering her nomination as secretary of state.

Clinton indicated she would depart from the ideologically-driven foreign policy of the Bush administration and forge new alliances around the world.

"America cannot solve the most pressing problems on our own, and the world cannot solve them without America," she said. "I believe American leadership has been wanting, but is still wanted. We must use what has been called 'smart power', the full range of tools at our disposal. With 'smart power', diplomacy will be the vanguard of foreign policy."

    • People voted for CHANGE.
That is also partly why she lost her presidency bid.
So she should keep that in mind indeed ;)

    • How smart & for who's profit ?

"Since world war two we've managed to create history's first truly global empire. This has been done by the corporatocracy, which are a few men and women who run our major corporations and in doing so also run the U.S. government and many other governments around the world." John Perkins, author of ' Confessions of an Economic Hit Man '

Is this what she has in mind ?
