Top Saudi Cleric says it's OK to wed young girls

In remarks published in a Saudi newspaper, top cleric Sheikh Abdul Aziz Al-Sheikh said, "It is incorrect to say that it's not permitted to marry off girls who are 15 and younger. A girl aged 10 or 12 can be married. Those who think she's too young are wrong and they are being unfair to her."

Just let that one sink in.

    • Yup these people are backward and living in the dark ages..

While the rest of the world has progressed once the oil runs out these people will return to stones from whence they crawled out of

    • This practice has a long tradition. King Fahad bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud, the king before the present one in Saudi Arabia, had about 100 wives. His father, the first king, known as Ibn Saud, conquered what we now know as Saudi Arabia by marrying the daughter of the local Sheikh. We know he had a large quantity of wives. His favourite, Hassa Al Sudairy, bore him seven sons and some of these are in power in Saudi today. They are Min. of Defence... Deputy Min of Defence, Min. of Interior, Govenor of Riyadh etc.
It's tradition. A girl is a commodity.....to be a wife so she can bear children and pleasure her husband when he is not with prostitutes.
