Details: An account of Israel war crime finally coming to light

Israel stands accused of perpetrating a series of war crimes during a sustained 12-hour assault on a village in southern Gaza last week in which 14 people died.
------------------------------------------------
This is only one of many ongoing investigations that are bearing fruit against the Israeli government

These People were all waving white flags and saying there were no weapons, they were not armed. Still, the Israeli Forces leveled homes with people INSIDE of them, killed fleeing innocent civilians, sent civilians to the center of the village and opened fire on them. Israeli military then attacked the civilians with White Phosphorous....I also heard on CNN about the IDF in this incident, shot a 64 year old man and when his body started stinking they tossed the body into a pile of rubbish. More is coming out of this as the investigation continues. Truly horrific and inhumane crimes

here's the story and I will continue it in the comments since I want the world to know in a flash. We cannot allow Israel to get away with these crimes and we will never give up. Many government and humanitarian organization are actively and presently prosecuting this crimes against humanity as I type and I see most of the world is backing them up.
------------------------------------------------

In testimony collected from residents of the village of Khuza'a by the Observer, it is claimed that Israeli soldiers entering the village:

• attempted to bulldoze houses with civilians inside;

• killed civilians trying to escape under the protection of white flags;

• opened fire on an ambulance attempting to reach the wounded;

• used indiscriminate force in a civilian area and fired white phosphorus shells.

If the allegations are upheld, all the incidents would constitute breaches of the Geneva conventions.

The denunciations over what happened in Khuza'a follow repeated claims of possible human rights violations from the Red Cross, the UN and human rights organisations.

The Israeli army announced yesterday that it was investigating "at the highest level" five other attacks against civilians in Gaza, involving two UN facilities and a hospital. It added that in all cases initial investigations suggested soldiers were responding to fire. "These claims of war crimes are not supported by the slightest piece of evidence," said Yigal Palmor, an Israeli foreign ministry spokesman.

Concern over what occurred in the village of Khuza'a in the early hours of Tuesday was first raised by the Israeli human rights group B'Tselem. Although an Israeli military spokesman said he had "no information that this alleged incident took place", witness statements collected by the Observer are consistent and match testimony gathered by B'Tselem.

There is also strong visible evidence that Khuza'a came under a sustained attack from tanks and bulldozers that smashed some buildings to pieces.

      We can't get any proof because Israel wont let in any reporters; that should tell you something right there. All we know is that everyone coming out of there (except for any Israeli) is report mass blood shed.

      What on earth is there to be jealous and envious of? There is no spite involved at all. The USA also oppressed Jews and turned back shiploads of Jews fleeing Hitler's Germany and other European countries.

    • SHOCKED Palestinians emerged on to the rubble-strewn streets of the Gaza Strip yesterday to recover their dead and inspect their shattered homes after Israel declared a unilateral ceasefire and Hamas a conditional week-long truce.

      The 23-day death toll rose to about 1,300, including 410 children, with 5,450 wounded. The fatality figure is certain to increase as bodies are recovered from the rubble.

      Women sat weeping amid the ruins of their houses. Others sifted through the debris to gather cherished belongings.

      Families who fled advancing Israeli troops began returning to barely recognisable neighbourhoods to discover who had survived and who had died. “Thank God you are alive! The house can be rebuilt, God willing,” Abu Daoud Amer consoled a friend.

      Hamas, eager to show it still controls Gaza, sent policemen back on to the streets – even the traffic police were out on mangled, cratered roads.

      At Beit Hannoun, a farmer was killed and his son injured when inspecting their fields and a woman and her daughter were wounded when their home was hit by an Israeli shell.

    • During the Israeli war on Gaza, Western media propagated Israeli propaganda that the Palestinian resistance have been using their family members as human shields. Sadly, Israeli propaganda is often presented in Western media as facts, and the Israeli version has been accepted with little verification. The goal is simple: dehumanise the Palestinian by showing that he does not care about his family members, and once that is done it becomes much easier to accept him as a legitimate target.

      To this date, the Israel Occupation Army (IOF) still refuses to comply with orders from the Israeli Supreme Court to stop using Palestinian civilians as human shields (click here for a BBC article about this subject). If the IOF is a “professional army” as it claims and it treats Palestinians according to International Law, then:

      * I wonder why Israel’s highest court would issue such an order?
      * I wonder why IOF refuses to stop using Palestinians as human shields?

      It has been an Israeli strategy from the start to use civilian target as a strategic weapon. Israeli leaders assume this would cause the civilian population to pressure Arab leaders to submit to Israeli dictates. Sadly, this Israeli tactic has been historically effective with the corrupt and unpopular Arab leaders who are more interested in protecting their corrupt regimes than defending their countries. The reader should be reminded of the “Grape of Wrath” agreement between Hizbullah and Israel 1996 which restricted both sides from hitting civilian targets. This agreement signaled the end of the Israeli occupation in southern Lebanon, and as a result a new era in the Arab-Israeli conflict have begun where Israel’s deterrence power suffered a major setback. It should be noted that Israel has been determined not to fall into this trap again; that would explain why Israel rejected signing similar agreements with Hamas. ...........more.....

      This dehumanizing campaign is as old as the Zionist movement; it was articulated by Golda Meir (a former Israeli Prime Minister) when she said: Peace will come when the Arabs will love their children more than they hate us.

      This racist and derogatory comment is often propagated in Western media without a second thought to its dehumanizing consequences. It paints the Arab as a sub-human creature, who has neither affection nor love towards his or her children. When I first heard this racist comment from an American, I felt as if he was telling me: “you are not much of a human as I”!

    • Hamas / Palestinian Jihad = Nazis

      "Hamas deploys suicide attackers including women and children, and rigs up schools and houses with booby-trap explosives. Its leaders knew as a matter of certainty this would lead to civilian casualties if there was a ground battle. Virtually every aspect of its operations is illegal under international humanitarian law - 'war crimes' in the emotive language usually reserved for the Israelis".

    • The Arabs should now form a organization for going after Jewish war criminals like the one the Jews have for going after the German war criminals. It seems the Jews have learned by experience from Hitler! It seems like giving half of the palestinians land to the Jews was the worst decision ever made to date by the UN. I know there will never be peace in my lifetime and maybe it is time for the Jews and the UN to rethink this decision unless they and the world wants everlasting war. I don't blame the Palestinians or the Arabs, since they had no say in this decision. Another bad move by America or should I say the UN but there is no difference really is there?

      If you and your family had been living under the same conditions and oppression that the Palestinians have been living under for over six decades, you'd be the first to educate your children in this manner.

    • People always talk about Hamas being a terrorist group, that they attack Israel for no reason or that they use Palestinian civilians as shields when in fact it is Israel that has committed these heinous crimes. Palestine is in Apartheid and what Israel is doing to them is nothing less than genocide. Israel wants its neighbors to respect its sovereignty, but it doesn't respect its neighbors. This kind of mentality will always be met with resistance, and that's what the world doesn't understand. Hamas isn't a "terrorist" group it is a resistance group.

      neokn, Allah is simply the Arabic word for God - it has the same root as the Hebrew word for God which is Elohim. The Muslims, the Christians and the Jews all worship the same God - Abraham's God.

    • continued from above: Pictures taken by photographer Bruno Stevens in the aftermath show heavy damage - and still burning phosphorus. "What I can tell you is that many, many houses were shelled and that they used white phosphorus," said Stevens yesterday, one of the first western journalists to get into Gaza. "It appears to have been indiscriminate." Stevens added that homes near the village that had not been hit by shell fire had been set on fire.

      The village of Khuza'a is around 500 metres from the border with Israel. According to B'Tselem, its field researcher in Gaza was contacted last Tuesday by resident Munir Shafik al-Najar, who said that Israeli bulldozers had begun destroying homes at 2.30am.

      When Rawhiya al-Najar, aged 50, stepped out of her house waving a white flag, so that the rest of the family could leave the house, she was allegedly shot by Israeli soldiers nearby.

      The second alleged incident was on Tuesday afternoon, when Israeli troops ordered 30 residents to leave their homes and walk to a school in the village centre. After travelling 20 metres, troops fired on the group, allegedly killing three.

      Further detailed accounts of what occurred were supplied in interviews given to a Palestinian researcher who has been working for the Observer, following the decision by Israel to ban foreign media from the Gaza Strip. Iman al-Najar, 29, said she watched as bulldozers started to destroy neighbours' homes and saw terrified villagers flee from their houses as masonry collapsed.

      "By 6am the tanks and bulldozers had reached our house," Iman recalled. "We went on the roofs and tried to show we were civilians with white flags. Everyone was carrying a white flag. We told them we are civilians. We don't have any weapons. The soldiers started to destroy the houses even if the people were in them." Describing the death of Rawhiya, Iman says they were ordered by Israeli soldiers to move to the centre of the town. As they did, Israeli troops opened fire. Rawhiya was at the front of the group, says Iman.

      Marwan Abu Raeda, 40, a paramedic working for the Nasser hospital in Khan Younis, said: "At 8am we received a phone call from Khuza'a. They told us about the injured woman. I went immediately. I was 60 or 70 metres away from the injured woman when the Israeli forces started to shoot at me." As he drove into another street, he came under fire again. Twelve hours later, when Rawhiya was finally reached, she was dead.

      Iman said she ended up in an area of rubble where a large group of people had sought cover in a deep hole among the debris of demolished houses. It is then, she says, that bulldozers began to push the rubble from each side. "They wanted to bury us alive," she said.
