Presidential speechwriters are rarely old, but at 27, Jon Favreau will probably be the youngest to contribute to an inaugural address.

On most speeches, such as the inaugural, Mr Obama writes a first draft or an outline and then sends his musings to Mr Favreau, beginning a back and forth that can last for weeks.

    • He's 27 so hopefully he's in touch with youth culture and internet memes. He should take the opportunity to make politics more relevant to young people. Throw in a couple of "WTFs" and "LOLs" in there and have Obama talk about playing Wii Fit with Hillary to really bring it home, Jonny.

    • I can't believe he's 27! Apparently he wrote the big inauguration speech in Starbucks.
I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one who finds the contrived atmosphere and strong coffee the perfect combination for penning great works. I wrote a huge portion of my Master's dissertation in the back corners of various Starbucks throughout London. (Now that it's over, I break out in cold sweats when I go near one).
