"The Army doesn't intend to seek to recoup past pay, he said."
Isn't that just so sweet of them!
The way our veterans are treated is criminal!

The US never takes care of its military veterans look at the conditions of the men coming back from Iraq. Everything is decided on a cost basis unless your name is KBR then its cost plus 20%.

I hope that the nation can pay their meager retirements for the rest of their lives. They served their country and I hope we can honor them enough in retirement to show our respect.
Anyone that retires from the guard, reserves, or militia during a time of war in service to our nation shouldn't be ignored. They were paid for a period of years, I don't think because we are facing economic hardships that they should be shortchanged. I would rather raise taxes in order to honor these men!

So what else is new? The U.S. has been shafting native people from the very beginning. Broken promises and treaties? This doesn't come as any surprise to natives. Never-the-less, it reflects very poorly on the people of the United States who allow this sort of thing to take place.

"hopefully Obama will help."
thats all you Amerikans do is hope that ur government is going to save you. Along comes a majik black man that will make all world troubles go away, so simple right?
Its you who has to do something to help.
"A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves largesse from the public treasury!!!
From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most benefits from the public treasury with the result that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy, always followed by a Dictatorship. Great nations rise and fall.
The people go from bondage to spiritual truth, to great courage, from courage to liberty, from liberty to abundance, from abundance to selfishness, from selfishness to complacency, from complacency to apathy, from apathy to dependence, from dependence back again to bondage."

You're right about the cycles, but our society seems to be in the beginning of the awareness stage, while our government is the the stage of selfishness.

One Tomahawk cruise missile costs something like 1.2 million dollars. These dudes most likely won't even eat up that much with there less than $600 a month retirement checks. Maybe instead of buying 100 of these next year we could buy 98 and not fuck our vets out of their money?

The Army just doesn't like wasting money on no potential. They would rather use it to more weapons and ammunition so that they can kill that many more people.

US Army claims that because it was an unpaid malitia, they were not suppose to legally receive a retirement check in the first place. The army made the mistake and ethically should eat it for the life of these boys. SUPPORT OUR TROOPS, especially when they're retired!!!

Some way to take care of the greatest generation. What's wrong?? Did they live to long? Or is the Army running out of money?
