Michelle Obama has spoken out against Ty, the maker of Beanie Babies, for using her daughters in a new pair of dolls. The company says Sweet Sasha and Marvelous Malia were chosen for their names, not because of Obama's children. "We believe it is inappropriate to use young, private citizens for marketing purposes," said Michelle's spokeswoman in a statement.

I agree that the children should be off-limits. But have Barack and Michelle specifically said this beforehand? I know that Princess Di made it clear to the press and all public that her children were off-limits until they reached 18, and her wishes were respected. Maybe the Obamas need to do the same.
