    • Interesting that the link is to NY Times.com Opinion page, and the responses of the readers of such said notorious rag and its bastion of leftists yield comments only to be expected. Nothing new...for sure

    • It's really a shame. He provided a harmless and often humorous (unintentionally I'm sure) counterpoint to the powerful left op ed writers of the NYT. He wlll be missed. Sob!

    • A positive clear thinking conservative gives a forthright view of our new POTUS and a message of hope for our country and the socialist vermin crawl out of the woodwork regurgitating their usual negative garbage, as they pretend to be " liberally enlightened". You may be citizens, but you sure as hell are not any that I would call a "fellow citizen".

    • akamaial:

i would have to agree with you on this, akamaial, except for the "unapologetically patriotic" part from mr. kristol.
that smacks of the same altruistic, might makes right type of thought that we just ushered out of office.
we preach responsibility for our actions until it comes to our government's foreign policy.

    • This guys thinking is f-ing warped, but he's not the one who created the "neo con" philosophy. He's just a student and acolyte of its teachings.

    • Another scribe of Bush's Orwellian truthspeak bites the dust. As the defeated Republican's hunker down it is unfortunate they still don't seem to see the light. Repeating lies will never make them truth.

    • Perhaps this will give him time to prepare his debate against Matt Damon. I seriously hope that it goes down because that is one show I would definitely Tivo.

    • I hadn't heard of him prior to this, but reading this article, damn man what a fucking tool.

"Who today is called a liberal for strength and confidence in defense of liberty?”

I dunno, only EVERYONE ALL THE TIME.

It's like only liberals CARE about liberty anymore. The conservatives seem to think it's just fine to engage in warrantless wiretapping, to torture, to suspend habeas corpus, to use the government as a "pay-to-play" tool for corporations to fuck over their competition and increase their bottom line, etc. etc. etc.

"Over the next three decades, it was modern conservatism, led at the crucial moment by Ronald Reagan, that assumed the task of defending liberty with strength and confidence."

Iran-Contra, deals with the Saudis, Iraq I and II, fucking up Afghanistan, etc. etc. etc.

I'm kinda glad I'd never heard of this clown before, what a propagandist.

    • quote from his article, "Conservatives have been right more often than not"

he must live on a different planet other than earth.
conservatives are the same assholes who ruled during feudal days and slavery days who think they deserve to live in opulence while the majority of people starve

    • so Bill is going back under his rock to hide away.
we'll miss his narrow views, but we do have Hannity, Limbaugh, O'Reilly et al. to give us a face for constipated thought.
